It seems like there's always something that needs to be bought or replaced in this house.  Little One outgrows shoes and clothing like it's nobody's business.  Appliances get old or need replacing.  Little One is notorious for wrecking perfectly good household items.  There's also birthday present after birthday present.  Then there are baby showers, bridal showers, special occasions, weddings... If it's not one thing, it's another.

I was really excited to be selected for the Sears Club Points Program via Mom Central Canada.  It was really neat to see how the Sears Club Points Program works.  It was even neater to learn that all the things we need to purchase could one day turn into the things we want to purchase!

I received 20,000 Sears points ($200 in value) to spend on anything I wanted.  I don't know about you, but that was a tough one for me!  Give a Mom $200 worth of Sears Points and tell her to spend it, and guess what she's most likely going to purchase with those Sears Points?  Uhhh huh! You got it! Something for A) The Kids, B) The house, C) The husband.

I don't even recall the last time I spent anything just on myself.

I had my eye on this:

I've actually wanted a Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer for quite some time now. However, I remembered that I always get things for the house and never for me.

Then I got distracted by The Baby's Room!  I'm telling you, it almost makes me want to have another baby. Almost.

I decided to get something for me for once. Seeing as it's conference time, some new outfits would be great.

Of course, I ended up getting a few clothing items for Little One, as she needs more pants for school because she's getting so tall.

OVERALL SHOPPING EXPERIENCE:
At first, I tried shopping online.  Things have been busy and I didn't have time to actually go shopping in the Sears store. When I proceeded to "check out", I had some issues using the Sears Club Points online. After calling Sears and Mom Central, we finally figured out that it was because you need to use a credit card with your Sears Club Points card to use the points online.  NOTE: Online redemption of Sears Club Points requires use of a credit card and in-store redemption does not. You can just present the Sears Club Points card and use it as is.

I had to go run errands and I wanted to check out Sears The Baby's Room in person, so I ended up making my purchases in-store.

Everyone (from the Sears customer service reps on the phone to the in-store sales people) made me feel comfortable and at ease using the Sears Points. Everyone was so helpful and answered all my questions. They did everything possible to make my shopping experience a great one. This was my first time using Sears Club points and it won't be the last!
