#WordlessWednesday ~ While Mommy's Away
While I was away in Toronto for the ShesConnected Conference, Grampy and Lola took care of Little One since Hubby was busy working. Grampy took Little One to the bus stop and picked her up in the afternoon. I was actually kind of sad that she didn't miss me at all. Everyone says I should feel thankful that she is confident enough to be able to be away from Mommy for a few days. Is it wrong that I kind of want her to miss me? Even just a little?

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Oh she is such a sweetheart! I know what you mean though, I was a little disappointed Keira wasn't all out of sorts when I picked her up from my Moms on Friday!
Elizabeth:
*sniff* I guess we're lucky, but still! LOL!
Oh Christine! I felt the same way while away...my hubby said the kids didn't miss me :( lol!! But my daughter was a HUGE suck once I was home, so that made me feel better...hehe
Totally hear you! When we started taking our daughter to daycare, she was totally apathetic about us leaving her there. Definitely better than leaving a sobbing, devastated child but still....know what you mean. :)
Aww, that's just that special grandparent love; there's no beating it!
Awe so sweet!
Brandi:
LOL! I wish I could say Little One was a big suck when I got home. She smiled, and then said "Okay, I'm going to bed."
i wasn't missed all by any of my boys! they just wanted to know if I brough their tablet back so they could play angry birds. nope. not missed at all!. thanks for the chocolate by the way. very yummy!
M2M:
LOL! You're right. It's great to have confident, independent, well-adjusted kids. I'm sometimes jealous of my mom friends whose kids cling onto them and don't want them to leave them even for a second. Then I think, maybe this isn't so bad. Would be nice to get more luvin' though! LOL!
Kat:
Soooooo true! The love grandparents have for their grandkids is amazing. So special.
Tammy:
:) It is kinda cute, isn't it?
LOL - it's not wrong at all. My kids have the best time with their grandparents (because they are wicked spoiled) and I've just come to accept that they don't miss me at all when they are with them :)
Awww, I know what you mean. I sometimes think the dogs miss me more since they are super happy when I come home and the kids are like ehh. lol
Nothing better than getting to spend time with Grampy! I loved those days when I was a kid
My little one missed be but she did way better than I thought she would without me for a few days. Her running across the airport yelling "mommy" when she saw me was awesome!
I remember feeling like that too...happy they are content and well looked after, but a little sad too that they don't miss me.
Awww have to love Grampy! I know what you mean about being missed but I am sure she did miss you so much!
Nope, perfectly okay to want the little ones to miss momma. :)
