Mommy & Daughter Baking with @MeMyselfUSInc
One thing Little One loves to do is help out in the kitchen. She absolutely loves to help bake things. Now, I don't bake too often anymore, so it's a big treat for her when we do spend some time baking cakes, pies, cupcakes, or cookies.
Me Myself & Us knew that Little One absolutely adores Hello Kitty. For Little One's 4th Birthday,we I made Hello Kitty cake pops! They were a hit!
Well, Little One wanted to make more cake pops and this time, we made Hello Kitty cupcakes as well!
Before you applaud our artistic work in the kitchen, you must know that the baking kits from Me Myself & Us are fabulous. We simply cannot take any of the credit. The kits are fun and instructions are easy to follow.
I will, however, share with you our only baking/cake pop FAIL! It was an epic fail!
Little One wanted to make the Valentine's cake pops for my friend's baby shower. It seemed like a brilliant idea. Little One's hands were too hot, and she was handling the cake pops too much that the mixture sort of melted and we had difficulty getting them onto the sticks without falling apart.
It was no fault of the baking kit, but more of the temperature of Little One's hands and me not being able to work fast enough.
As a result, they became heart-shaped cake bites. All was well in the world. Mom just needs to learn how to not be such a perfectionist when she has a little helper in the kitchen. Little One reminded me that baking is supposed to be fun. In fact, it was my four year old that said, "It's okay if they're not perfect, Mom. They're still pretty and delicious. That's what counts."
I can learn a lot from my four year old!
Thanks to Me Myself & Us for sending us some really fun baking kits! Little One and I had a blast trying them out! We made the Hello Kitty Cupcakes for my friend's 40th birthday! They were well-received!

The pinkest frosting I have ever seen!
I love the decorations for the Hello Kitty cupcakes! The kit comes complete with everything you need to create show-stopping edible works of art.
Aren't they adorable?

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Those are very cute and I think the heart "cake bites" turned out well. Good job!
Your little one did a great job! I need to get on this. My DD2 birthday is in 12 days and she should have some of these at her birthday. At least I think so.... tooo.....cuuuutttteeee
Tamara:
They tasted great! :) Just sad they didn't end up being cake pops as they were intended, but that's okay!
Margarita:
YES! Definitely make these for your daughter's birthday!!! :)
SO much fun! I love that company :)
Christine, you did some beautiful baking for your daughter's birthday! I love how everything looks!

Those look so cute! I made cake pops for my daughter's birthday last year - they are both easy and a lot of work! :) My daughters also love helping in the kitchen (teaching me lots of patience!). :)
How fun!! My daughter LOVES cooking and baking with me, and lately she's been talking a lot about cake pops and wanting to try them. She is obsessed with cooking shows and watching baking videos on YouTube (at 3 years old bahaha), so I'll have to try these cake pops (or cake bites ;)
I love cooking with my kids even though it does take twice as long! lol! They get such enjoyment out of the experience that it is totally worth it! I love your hello kitty cakes! Too cute!
