Official Princess Parties & a BIG Surprise for a Sick Little Girlie!
Over a week ago, my four year old was airlifted to Ottawa and sent to CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario). Other than her early delivery (when I was sent by air ambulance to Mount Sinai, where Little One canon-balled her way into existence), this experience was probably one of the scariest times in my life.
After Little One's surgery, one of the first things she uttered was, "Now you really have to take me to Disney!"
I had heard of Official Princess Parties through my friend, Canadian Dad's blog posts this past year and knew my four year old would love to meet her favourite princess.
As soon as Little One was discharged from the hospital and had rested for a few days, I wanted to have a thank you BBQ for my friends @flywithbaby (and her husband and family), as well as for @CanadianDadBlog and his family. Both families were such a great support while Little One was in the hospital. Having a young child in the hospital is scary and emotionally challenging, but coupled with being away from Hubby and being 9 hours away from home, it is even more challenging.
Canadian Dad made the big BBQ party even more special by organizing a meeting with Little One's favourite princess! Little One was so excited to see Belle!
Check out the smile on Little One's face! Now, that is one very happy kid!
I was really impressed with the entire princess experience. We were staying at my friend's house and Belle popped in for a visit. She wowed all the children with sing-along tunes, dancing, story time, and cheek glitter and tattoo application!
Little One running to greet Belle. For a kid who was in a lot of pain from having surgery, she sure ran very quickly to see her favourite princess!
Thank you to Official Princess Parties, Belle, and Canadian Dad for making one sick little girlie very happy!

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Awwww sweet! Canadian Dad rocks!
So glad you're home and LO is feeling better. Now take some time for yourself - so much stress all at once can make you sick! Pamper yourself a little Christine!
What a great surprise. I am so glad you had such good support while in Ottawa. This world is full of good people :)
Hope you are catching up on some rest.
I am so happy she is feeling better and that you are back home. It's always scary not knowing what is wrong with your child when she is sick. I spent a week at CHEO with my daughter when she was 4, so I can definitely relate. You are strong and so is she! Love the princesses party, thanks to Chris and Kelly:)
Thank God all our prayers came true and LilOne is doing well. How wonderful to have a Princess to celebrate with!!!
Heather:
Indeed! A genuine friend. This past week I have been amazed at how supportive the "community" has been. We are blessed!
So happy to hear that your little one is okay. What a scare!
As for the Princess parties ... my son recently went to a Princess and Pirate party and the Princess at the party completely captivated all the kids.
So happy she is feeling better :)
Awesome!
So glad Little One is feeling better! And that is amazing that Canadian Dad was there for you when you needed support. I wish I could have done something to help.
*hugs*
Awww. Chris rocks!! and I am soooooooo glad to see that RA is finally doing better!! What a scare!!! (((hugs)))
Glad to hear she's on the mend and that a special princess made your princess so happy!
what a special treat after a LONG week for your whole family! She deserves a smile and some playtime!
I am so glad that there were some great people there to support you while you were in Ottawa
I am so glad to hear that Little one is doing better now. I bet that was pretty scary. I love hearing that you had a fellow blogger's support and that him and his family were there for you as well as your other friends and family.
I will continue to keep Little One in my prayers. I'm so happy she is doing better. She looks like she had a ball at the Thank You BBQ!
I loved watching the kids that night. They all had so much fun as if they were all best friends. The princess was just the cherry on top of a great night with great people and amazing food. I'm glad you got home safe!
