In Search of the Perfect Bed!
I love my bed. I really do. In fact, I'm really attached to my bed. It's comfy, and cozy...and is just perfect! When you've got the perfect bed (you know, the one with just the right fit?), you want to keep it forever.
Well, I've had my bed for years. I got it in my mid-twenties when I purchased my first bedroom set. You know, the first five piece bedroom set you purchased with your own money? Not the one that your parents got you? That bedroom set!
Needless to say, the thought of getting a new bed has come up.
I was in bed, looking at the ceiling and thinking, "Wow. This bed is so uneven!" The bed frame is permanently on a slant and the mattress, though super comfortable, is over ten years old. I just cannot bring myself to let go. I never sleep well unless I'm in my bed. The head board has been taken down because I was worried it would fall on us while we slept. It used to be a gorgeous bed, but now it's just wornloved and could probably be replaced.
Yes, it's probably time we started thinking about shopping for a new bed.
Hubby loves our bed, so trying to convince him that we do in fact need to upgrade has been a challenge. The unevenness of the bed drives me crazy. I even considered taking the box spring and mattress off the frame (it's the frame that is wonky) and just setting them on the floor. Hubs is concerned that leaving they won't get enough ventilation if they're on the floor.
When looking for a new bed, these are some important things to consider:
I've been getting some really great ideas for new beds and mattresses at Tesco Direct!
What do you look for when shopping for a new bed?

When looking for a new bed, these are some important things to consider:
- MATTRESS! For me, this is the most important thing. A good mattress is so crucial (for a good night's sleep and for your back).
- Comfort and just the right firmness of the mattress. I'm so fussy when it comes to mattresses. Too firm will make my back hurt and too soft will also leave me waking up not feeling well rested.
- PRICE- We like to make sure we are spending our money wisely. A good sale or deal is always welcomed. This said, a good mattress is something I will never skimp on. Quality, quality, quality!
- Appearance - I like a bed I will be happy with looking at every day. Your bedroom is your oasis. It's a place you go to seek refuge from a busy day and have a good rest. The right

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

I have been trying to convince hubby we need a new bed as well. I think that is why my back is so sore every day and has been for a long time. It's just we only have one store here to buy from and not a lot of selection. And I don't trust buying a bed online without testing it out first.
6 years ago we splurged on a new mattress, now it's time for a new bed! But I think DH is going to make it, he's totally handy!
HAPPY SHOPPING!
I agree it is extremely important to have a good bed. After all you do spend so much time in it too. For a more comfortabel sleep go King!
I also had a bed for YEARS that I had since I was really young and it was SO hard for me to let it go, despite the grooves and lumps lol. I love my current bed, but it took a bit of time to get it just the way I wanted ;) Having the perfect bed is important for a good night's sleep!
Christine, thanks for the tips! We are also in the market for a new bed. The problem is, my husband likes it very firm, and I like it soft. It took us weeks to find and agree upon our last bed--and now it's on it's last legs.
