Things My 3 Year Old Tells Me

I am always in awe of how smart 3 year olds are. They're forever coming up with such gems to share with us unsuspecting parents. I really need to keep track of all the funny and witty things Little One says.

I've been under the weather lately with a stuffy yet runny nose, itchy/burning eyes, headache, dry cough, sore throat, and earache. Either I've got a cold or some really funky allergies!
Little One looked at me, as I spoke to her with tissue inserted in my nose to stop the leaky, runny nose action. She said rather seriously, "Mommmmmm! Why did you put tissue in your nose? You shouldn't do that! Your nostrils will get big!"

Little One was taking a bath and I could hear her talking to herself.  Now, I think I've watched far too many horror movies as a kid, because the idea of Little One talking to an imaginary friend just freaks me out.  I know many children talk to themselves or to an imaginary friend, and I realize this is part of development, but it really, really gives me the creeps!

Me: [Insert Little One's real name here], who are you talking to?
Little One: Oh! A boy, Mommy. He's in the bathtub with me.
Me: Oh? Wow. What's his name?
Little One: Agamemnon.
I'm a bit of a goofball and love doing impersonations. The other day, I was reading Little One some story books that she borrowed from the library. I thought it would be fun to read the books in different accents. I tried my Filipino accent, followed by my Trinidadian accent, and was not even through the first book when Little One gave me a sideways glance and rather sternly said, "Mommmm! Don't DO that! Read it in your normal voice!"
Little One is only 3 years old and is already acting like a teenager.  Hubby and I are bracing ourselves for the exciting ride we're about to embark on.

What are some of the funny things your kids say?

Oh man, why do I not write them down?

So often I'll tell Eric's mom about something Elizabeth just did or said and she says, you are writing these down aren't you? Funny I can remember my MIL saying that but I can't remember what it was that triggered her to say it!

We've been having fun (and sometimes pulling our hair out) watching Elizabeth's reactions to things. Like she's developed the association with Plastic Easter Eggs and candy (great, so much for just having fun hunts with it just being about fun instead of about candy and prizes). Or asking her what she wants for dinner and she pretty much gets stuck on "CAKE!". Or ask her what songs she wants to sing and she asks for "Bubbles" - she wants me to sing a song about Bubbles her favorite thing in the world at the moment.
and not something she says, but something new she's doing.... sitting down on the ground when she's frustrated. this is her current tantrum. Frankly I'll take it!
