Ahhh! Quel fromage!!!

Okay, I need some input here. Upon contemplating the oh-so important wedding song selection, J and I got stumped. We love all of these songs and they all have special meaning to us. Though we're aware that no one but us can choose our first dance song, we'd like some input just to help us out a bit. The trouble is, they're all so perfect!! It's like finding that perfect party dress in a store but not knowing if you should choose the red one or the black one! Sometimes you need a friend's input on which one looks best. We've narrowed it down to a few special songs but are having trouble pin-pointing the one that best reflects our feelings for each other because they're all so special!!

Out of curiosity, those of you who are married already, which song did you choose for your first dance?

WARNING: cheesy love songs coming up!!

WEDDING SONGS (FIRST DANCE)

Kelly Clarkson- A Moment Like This
Celine Dion- Because You Loved Me
Faith Hill- Breathe
LeAnne Rimes- How Do I Live Without You
Shania Twain- You’re Still The One
Shania Twain- From This Moment
Edwin McCain- I’ll Be
Savage Garden- Truly, Madly, Deeply

Christina Aguilera- I Turn To You

Yes, yes...we know. We are sappy, sentimental romantics. LOL! I cried when we were listening to the lyrics of each of these songs. Oh my goodness...let's hope waterproof mascara works on our wedding day!

Those of you who know me, didn't I tell you that all this wedding prep stuff has disabled my ability to make decisions on even the most trivial things? Let me tell you, it took a LONG time to decide on the perfect wedding dress! I tried it (and several others) on a zillion times. Urgh. I wish I were the type of person who could just go in there, choose something and that would be the end of it. Instead, I'm the type of person who has to go back and forth on things. Argh. My aunt told me that pre-wedding anxiety isn't abnormal, but this is ridiculous!! The latest of my series of wedding nightmares (I've been dreaming about the wedding for the past 3 weeks!) is that our photographer called in sick!

Christine,
Nobody can pick your first song for you, you need to listen to them together and find which may have the most meaning to you both.
Don't have others do it for you. One day just sit listen to the lyrics and feel which one feels the best. Even try dancing to them and see.

Thank you :) The problem is they ALL jump out and ALL have an impact on us both. That's the whole prob :) We were listening to them together and they all have meaning. So hard to pick! We're stumped! I made J a CD for his b-day and it had all these songs on it (plus a bunch of other songs that reflected the mood of our relationship) and they're all so perfect! Each and every song on the list reflects our feeling for each other (very saccharine, I know!). I like the idea of trying to dance to them and see which feels best though! Thanks for that! :D

I like these:

Christina Aguilera- I Turn To You

LeAnne Rimes- How Do I Live Without You

Luv ya. Hope that helps!

How Do I Live Without You is my pick. I know it is tough to pick one song that encompasses yours and John's relationship, love and dedication to each other. We went thru the same thing at our wedding. PS. Ours was Breathe by Faith Hill

Love ya and see ya at the wedding.

We had Breathe by Faith Hill. I remember hearing it on the radio one night after a date with Adam, and feeling like it talked to me. I knew that that if we married, it would be our song.

As for your choices, I like Breathe, obviiously!!! I also really like Truly, Madly, Depply.

If I got married today, I would choose You and Me by Lifehouse, but it is not on your list.

Good Luck!

My vote is for From this Moment by Shania Twain...it's Canadian, AND it's really about THAT moment. Makes me shiver.

And our first song, was a karaoke song as you know: I've had the Time of My Life....and I can't really remember singing it!

Kelly Clarkson- BARF!
Celine Dion- Arg!
Faith Hill- Hmm...
LeAnne Rimes- Hmm...x2
Shania Twain- Ooh! CanCon!
Shania Twain- CanCon x2 ... not bad!
Edwin McCain- Who???
Savage Garden- Aww....
Christina Aguilera- It's dirty but eeewwww...

So my vote it for Savage Garden or Xtina. I've just done a 48 hour shift & will be doing a 13 hour on tomorrow so take my opinion with a big grain of salt. Arg!

Thank you everyone, for your input. Love hearing what everyone's wedding songs were too. I think it's really neat to hear which songs couples chose for their special day and what the stories were behind that choice...

Hey Christine,
It anonymous Danielle, Because I don't have a blog I have to be anonymous. When Jeff and I were picking out our song we picked one that stood out to both of us, and that was Ronan Keetings When you say nothing at all.
I know you have said all the songs mean somthing, but try and go with one that has a special memory or two for both of you.

Danielle
