Spring

Spring has sprung. I can feel it in the air. The snow is melting. The grass is beginning to poke through the thin layer of ice on the ground. Everything smells fresh and new. The sun shines and warms our greenhouse. The sweet songs of the birds sitting in the trees can be heard. Our maple trees are tapped and the sap is being collected. Yes, it is definitely Spring.

With Spring comes new life and changes. There's a sense of excitement about all things new. In a week, our calving season begins. Life on the farm will be very busy in a week (as if it isn't already busy all the time)!

Something about Spring always makes me feel like I need some kind of change. Something new or uplifting. Spring usually gets my creative juices flowing. I also go on mad cleaning sprees around this time. One of the things I felt compelled to do a few days ago was to get my hair cut. I was getting tired of my hairstyle. It was getting too long and scraggly.

This is what it looked like last Saturday...
This is what it looks like today.
One of my girlfriends and I went to the salon to get our hair cut and styled. We then went out for lunch and a little bit of shopping. Funny how a new haircut can totally change the way you feel :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!!! Happy Easter Weekend to those who are celebrating Easter :) I'm off to an Easter egg hunt with the nieces now :) Catch up with you later! xoxo

Love your new do! I'm feeling my spring cleaning juices flowing even if mother nature keeps giving us snow. :)

Hi Chrissy.
Happy egg-hunting! Over here, nothing like that except for the expat community doing the Easter activities.
I love your new do. Am thinking of having mine done as well :D

Your new hairstyle looks so light and easy breezy beautiful.

I gotta get my hair cut soon too. I'm starting to look like Mortitia Addams.

Jan:
Thank you! The only problem is that I always love my hair when I leave the salon, but when I get home, it never looks the same as when the hairstylist does it! Grrr!

;)

T:
Thanks, T! Yes, we had a great time in the DR and in K-town to see Kenny! Happy Easter to you guys!

Rick:
Yes, there's something about Spring that makes people feel that extra burst of energy! Love it!

Hot Mommy:
:) Happy Easter to you and your family. Have fun today! xo

Yes! I was watching the news and was thinking of you guys! I was really surprised to see so many areas south of us are still getting snow!!! Up north, where we are, the snow is already melting and the grass is poking through the snow. With a lot of areas south of us still getting hit by so much snow, it kind of makes me wonder what the rest of the year is going to look like. Last summer was hot and dry. My gardens really suffered. I hope it's not as dry this year!

Hi!!! I'm heading over to your blog now. It's been a while! Lots of catching up to do after a few weeks of being away from the computer. I noticed that I only posted THREE times in the whole month of March!!! That is soooo unlike me! LOL!

CK:
LOL! You are too funny, girlie! You always crack me up!! XOXO

Happy Easter C & Farmer John.
I've been getting that cleaning and hair cutting bug myself.
I got lucky and Miss Civil dropped my gals off for Easter while she was visiting family in town.

Oh C, that cut is SO CUTE on you!!! Glad you had some girlie time with your friend after a couple of very whirlwind weeks!

I love your enthusiasm for spring too! I cannot wait for the snow to go!!!

LOVE the cut!! it looks fab!

and it is AMAZING how a new hairdo can make you feel like a new person. I also went to have mine done last week and can't tell you HOW much better i feel now that my roots aren't down to my ears and my cut is cleaned up :)

Let's cross our fingers for SPRING TO SPRING as i went out this morning to a fresh layer of snow on my car...argh! (but it did melt quickly though)

I didn't get much chocolate this Easter :( I stole one or two Cadbury mini eggs from my youngest niece, and that's about all I had this year! LOL! Just kidding! I would never steal chocolate from a kid. She gave them to me.

Karen:
Thanks! BTW, I spoke too soon! I thought Spring was officially here...and then it snowed. Grr.

Thank you! You know what? The weirdest thing happened to me yesterday. I thought I called you and that we chatted for an hour or so. Then I realized it was a dream. Weird! Maybe it's a sign. Someone's telling me I need to call my friends more and that blogging and e-mailing are good and dandy, but nothing beats a phone call or a visit in person!

Calf Keeper:
Thank you! I'm off to catch up on your blog too. I was thinking of doing that new NaBlo challenge, but I think I need to spend less time on the computer! LOL! My greenhouse needs tending...big time!
