It Makes My Heart Hurt
...but not in a bad way.
Whenever I look at my Little One, my heart hurts. It swells with emotion. It's something so overwhelming and words cannot seem to explain the feelings I have for her. I look at her and I think of the miracle she truly is. She is absolute perfection, all wrapped up in the tiniest of packages. She amazes me.

I cannot believe she went from this 2 lb, 3 oz preemie
to this 5 lb, 3 oz little girlie...
*Yes, I had to cover up her girlie bits in that first photo. I'm sure that if the blog is still around when she becomes a teenager, she'll be very upset with her mommy for posting incriminating photos of her! *sigh*

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

I understand so well what you mean, C. I distinctly remember my heart feeling like it went through the ringer when one of my children smiled.
Once, when I was exhausted from having all the kids (we only had 4 at the time, lol!), I had put Miss Sunny-Hug in a baby "donut" to help her learn to sit up, she was really trying to stay seated. I got busy with Mister Cohort, fixing a toy or something. I was very engrossed in helping him with his toy problem, I didn't even notice her for a minute.
I heard a little squeek, and when I looked up, she was sitting up perfectly in the "donut", the hugest smile on her face. My eyes watered , my breath caught and my heart hurt. It was the most gorgeous smile ever. It was full of pride, pure happiness and so full.
Anyone who knows me knows I am not the emotional kind in general, but this intant in time will remain to be a memory amongst so many others, that I doubt I'll forget soon.
All my children have made my heart hurt. They are all so gorgeous, individual and special. :)
Just you wait until she cracks a smile, you might feel faint. ;)
xoxo
LOL, just wait until you have a second!!! When my first was born, I thought there was NO WAY I could so much!!! Then I had the second... HOLY COW!!! there was more room in there!!!

Wow Sis you're up and blogging early!
Beautiful pics, I can't believe she's grown so much since I visited. Keep on blogging honey!
As long as you keep blogging and posting pics, it makes me feel like I'm right there every step of the way!
Hi C- I agree, your daughter will thank you years later..."Thanks for not posting my vadge online Mom!"

Oooooh! Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks! She is too sweet for words, Chrissy! Good job, mama!
My heart still does that! I'm glad you are sticking around for now :) We'd all like to rejoice with you when the little one gets to come home. xoxo
(((((((c and family))))))))
I have not been on the blogs in a very long time due to negativity. I don't think you should close because you have sooo many friends here. Not my call but just a suggestion.
Your baby is absolutely gorgeous and I am praying she will be home with Mom and Dad soon.
Take care of you and your family and don't worry about the small shit! You look GREAT!
Take care of Little One and give her a hug from Tennessee..:)
Hugs, Sherry
I'm sorry I was the one that deleted my post because I had changed my name to *The Angry One* a few months back and I had forgot about it. At the time I had reason to be angry, I was getting negative post also.
Don't worry sweetheart, I still refuse to even put photos of Amy's bum on my blog!
And my heart still hurts. I don't think it ever stops really. It's a good hurt though.
She is so beautiful. Congratulations, and I look forward to hearing more about your adventures in motherhood :]
My heart still feels that way, but when I stupidly say something about it to Maya, she rolls her eyes. Sigh.
Don't worry about embarrassing her as a teenager. Whatever you do then will embarrass her. :)
those tiny little feet, so cute!!!
Little One is absolutely precious!! She is a beautiful little girl. You are very lucky C.
It makes my heart swell just reading about it!! Can't wait till you're home. Maybe your Little One and my Grasshopper can play (that is if grasshopper would hurry up and arrive already!!) I'm not anxious at all (note the sarcasm!!)
Take care.
She is gorgeous and she has come so far!
Rosie:
It truly is amazing how much love a person is capable of having for another person. Unbelievable.
I miss you guys! Give each one of your little kiddies a big squeeze for me. Can't wait to see you guys! You and Jamie simply must take some photos of Little One for us!!!
Steph:
Thanks so much for keeping up with my blog :) I still cannot get over how much things have changed since our days in Ile Bizard! Wow!
Bubba:
Hey, brother! Thanks for the note :) Hope all is well with Lele, K and the twins! I'll call you this weekend to see what's new. Looking forward to the arrival of your newest additionS!
Canine:
LOL! Every time I hear the word "vadge", I think of Juno's crazy friend! :)
BTW, I finally saw Twilight! One of my girlfriends thought it would be a good idea for me to not spend my entire time at the hospital with the baby and just have a few hours of leisure. Actually, it wasn't such a bad idea. It was good to be out of the hospital for a bit, and the baby was sleeping anyway.
T:
Yes, the cheeks are so kissable! I love my girlie!
After I nursed her this morning, I just held her and looked at her sleepy face for the longest time. She makes the funniest faces and noises when she sleeps. She is so sweet.
AM:
I hope she gets to come home soon too!!! I'll head over to yours sometime this afternoon or this evening. Blog time is limited. I'm in the "family room" at the hospital right now. For some reason it smells like stinky cheese (or feet!) right now! Ick.
Why wouldn't the blog be around when she is s teenager? ;-)
She is completely adorable and I bet you have to stop yourself from taking little nibbles of her too.
I have a feeling that you will continue to look back and be amazed. Probably every single day.
She is sooo precious. I can't believe that she has grown so much in such a little time. An absolute angel.
I, too, understand exactly what you mean. It is like... where was this vast, wide, swift, running river of love before my children were born? There is romantic love and that is a miracle in itself... especially because it is THAT love that makes BABY love in the first place. BUT looking at our babies. Touching our babies. Feeling our babies. Knowing the miracle of our babies. It springs from some eternal place that has been there for centuries, just waiting to pour forth. You have it. You know it!
NOW... I cannot even explain the love called grandparent love! You have a few years to wait, my dear!
Kiss that Little One for me today!
hi c! yay! i'm glad you were able to have a bit of "leisure" time by taking in a movie. what did you think of it? (you can email me instead of replying in this post so we won't bore others)
nice lipstick on Rob Pattinson, eh?
Canine:
HAHA! I totally noticed the lipstick Rob was wearing and I told me friend, "Oooh! I have that exact same lipstick!" LOL! I told her you got it for me. Oh, man...Rob is hawwwwt! I am going to e-mail you so everyone else doesn't think we're weirdos oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over Rob.
BTW, word ver is very funny today. It's "hatecom". LOL!
i have the same lipstick too (benefit - ms. behavin - mulberry shade)!it's more of a tint since it goes on sheer. i prefer darker, matte shades on me.
but dayum, if that lipstick looks better on him!
rob with short hair is even HAWTER (ha, is that even a word spelled that way?)!!!!!
Oh, she is just precious!
