Homemade Baby Food
Back when Little One was just starting on solids, I decided to make all of her baby food from scratch. I can't believe that was over a year ago!
I've written an article with a few baby food recipes for the BornFreeMom site. I've included a few easy, healthy, fool-proof recipes. Little One LOVED them. She's now eating whatever we eat, but those recipes were great for making in large batches and freezing in ice cube trays. I'd let the baby food cool and then freeze them in ice cube trays. Once frozen, I'd remove them from the trays and store them in freezer bags, making sure all the air was removed from the bags. I'd even double freezer bag them most of the time (because I'm paranoid like that).
If you read my article and leave a comment with some of your favourite baby food recipes, you can win a Born Free Baby Formula Dispenser!

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Looks Yummy!
Now if I could just get my baby to eat something...maybe I need to try your recipes.
hey, how was the wedding?
Christine:
Remember when you were at my house for J's baby shower and I made batches of blueberry and strawberry baby food? In the fall I'll make more apple sauce and some other concoctions! I'll make sure to bring some over to you! OR...we can have a baby food making day :) Ha! Unlikely that we'll get our schedules to cooperate, but we can try!
Jackie:
It was FABULOUS!!! It was so much fun and being able to spend time with my family was so great! I'm so sad that the last of the bunch leave tomorrow :(
That baby food was great, I finished eating the rest even when I had not won the race! lol
Yah, getting together for a project like that may never happen but we can have great hopes for it.
Christine:
Haha! I was thinking of just making a few batches for you and bringing it over sometime. ;)
I made all my baby food, it was great! Now I use all the ice cubes daily!! I loved doing it!
Oh boy, I remember those days of making baby food - the best part was how much of it my kids ate, and how easy it was to feed them - pop, like that!
I love how you're getting writing gigs, C - good for you!!!
