Home

We're back from a wonderful weekend away. Too bad the cattle didn't behave themselves while we were gone! Urgh. Sometime this week I'll be posting more about the wedding we attended in Montreal. All I can say is that it was one of the best weddings we had ever been to. The venue was perfect. My cousin, being the artsy, intellectual, unique guy that he is, chose to hold the reception in Old Montreal. This is perfect because my cousin just loves Montreal and this really expresses how he feels about the city we call 'home'. Okay, more about the wedding in my next post.

This post is yet another 'promo' for someone I hold in high esteem. Not only is my cousin, Jey a talented songstress, but she is also a wonderful make-up artist and hairstylist. I failed to mention that she's also a true fashionista. Everyone often jokes about how Clinton and Stacy from What Not to Wear need to watch out, or else Jey might steal their jobs from right under their feet!

I needed a new look for the wedding on the weekend. I have really fine, straight, uncooperative hair. Jey was able to work with my layers and add tons of volume and lift to my hair. She was also able to give me the illusion of having big eyes! I was amazed. Here are some photos of Jey's make-up and hair mastery. The make-up for the wedding was a bit more dramatic. You'll see photos in my next post.

In the meantime, if you are in the Montreal area and have an important event (wedding, anniversary, photo shoot, party) to attend, I highly recommend a session with Jey. She is amazing! *Note* She does not do haircuts. She's strictly make-up and hairstyling only. If you're lucky, she may sing to you while she does your hair! :)

UPDATE: Urgh. Guess I should have checked whether the link was still working or not. I'm not sure if the link will be activated again, but you can leave a message for Jey in my comment box and she can get back to you.

Thank you! LOL! It's amazing what a new hairdo and different make-up can do! I was really surprised when we did the photo shoot! I looked soooooooooooo different! LOL! Now, ask me if I can maintain the look??? LOL!!

Jane:
Thank you soooo much! You are soooooo sweet! I can always count on you for something positive to say :) I'll blog about the trip sometime this week. Must get to bed. It was a 9 hr drive and I'm totally wiped out (even if Hubby did the driving! LOL)! Chat soon, Jane! xo
PS. I checked out your blog as soon as I got home from our trip. Addicted? I guess so! ;)

You look great Chrissy!

Whatever did the cattle get up to while you were away?

Pavel:
LOL! Thanks so much! :) Yes, Hubby was pleasantly surprised. I don't wear this much make-up on the farm, so this was a totally different look!!!

Karen:
I miss my friends and family in Montreal, but it's always nice to be home. I don't know about you, but regardless of how much I enjoy being on vacation and being away, I always feel like I need a vacation for after my vacation! LOL!

I'll be uploading pics of the wedding and of Montreal tonight, so I'll be back with updates! :)

Thank you! You're too kind! LOL!

mrinz:
Oh! You will not believe how badly the cattle behaved when we were away! They didn't go in the pasture they were intended to stay in. They broke loose, went through the swamp, and ended up on another farmer's land! Hmph! I guess they aren't satisfied with 700+ acres of land! Grrr! I guess for the cattle, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!

Thanks! Pics and a wedding post are coming up...pronto!

Dina:
Thanks! Me too! The only problem is that I don't know if I can maintain the style! I need another set of hands to do all the blowdrying and styling! LOL!

Old Montreal is my absolute favourite place in Montreal! It's so full of life, energy, culture, history...and lots of fun! Having the wedding there just made so much sense. It reflects my cousin's personality and the love he has of our hometown :)

Thank you!

Muuuuuuuuuuuuah! I luv ya! You're so sweet! Funny you mentioned that though! I always hated my eyes! They look sooooo...Chinese!!! I know I'm part Chinese so my eyes are small, but I always wanted BIG eyes! Funny how I've always hated my eyes, but everyone's always said they look exotic. Now, that makes me laugh! ;)
