I am Sooooo Biased

...because I think she is just too cute for words!
Here's Little One at my cousin's wedding the other weekend. Hubby, Little One and I were in the wedding party.
She had a blast and danced the night away.

Yes, I let my 21 month old daughter dance until midnight. I know. What mother lets her toddler stay up until midnight?! That's right. I did. It's not like we let her stay up that late every night. It was one night and she had so much fun. Plus, I know that babies need routine and structure, but they also need to know that sometimes there's a change in their routine and structure. She had a blast and she slept really well after all that dancing!

These photos at the ceremony were taken by my uncle. Yes, Little One was a flower girl.

With a soother.

On a tricycle.

I'm well aware that the last two sentences weren't really sentences. They're missing a verb. Speaking of grammar, week one of teaching ESL again has gone well. I forgot how exciting it is to be teaching gerunds, infinitives, adverbial clauses, and conditionals! This said, having to do lesson planning, correct homework, teach, rush home to cook supper, wash dishes, take care of a toddler, bathe her, get her ready for bed, write articles for various companies, and do everything else (while Hubby is out working on the farm until 10PM every night) is really, really exhausting.

Did I mention that Little One is now starting to challenge her Mama? She's not horrible. She's just a bit...headstrong stubborn strong-willed challenging. Her personality is coming out and she's so very funny. She's an entertainer, and loves making people laugh. She likes to show people that she knows her body parts (eyes, nose, mouth, ears, tongue, teeth, hands, fingers, feet and toes). She tells you that shoes go on your feet. She can let you know what she wants even if she can't articulate her wants verbally yet. The only thing is that she is so gosh darn persistent when she wants something. She's very independent too.

I have a feeling I'm in for lots of excitement with this one. Okay, I have a feeling I'll have my hands full. *sigh*

As for going back to work, it will settle in... You just need to get a routine!

she is definitely a cutie pie!!
and "challenging" is labeled as "spirited" in my parenting magazine!! I think lots of kids her age go through that! Mine certainly did (and still are!!!)

You're right. With all changes, adapting to new routines are hard at first. I'm just finding it soooo exhausting at the moment though! LOL! I'll get the hang of it soon...I hope! ;)

Ohhh! "Spirited"! I like that! :) You're right about it being that age too. Everyone's been telling me that this is normal. Ahhhhh...

I sure hope so! Hopefully before our kids are in college or university!?!?! ;) I will be in your neck of the woods tomorrow. Will you be at the Fall Fair? Hubby is judging livestock tomorrow. How he got roped into that, I never will know! LOL!

Regarding little one, she's gorgeous. Regarding staying up late, I agree....weddings are to be celebrated, and I'm glad she had fun. Regarding trouble, 2 is bad, 3 is worse. Set your limits and stick to them. Say yes to everything that you can, but not to things that you aren't OK with. Now is the time to lay down the law. Saying yes when you can helps temper that.

My dear, dear, dear J: I can always trust that I will get sage advice and tips from you!!! You always make so much sense! :) Thank you!!! You are right about laying down the law. Sometimes I think she's too young to understand, but then I realize she understands way more than I think she does. At not even 2, she is very crafty. She's already playing the "I can't hear you" game...when I know she can. Wow. Kids can be so smart. Too smart for their parents' good! LOL!

She is so adorable! I think it's awesome that you let her stay up & dance. Yes, I personally am all about structure & routine, but I do believe it's also important to not be so rigid ALL THE TIME & I also think it's important for children to realize this too. My own childhood was a little TOO rigid IMO.

The personalities are so fun to see emerge. I think it's most fascinating to me to see how those very early glimpses remain, yet other "layers" (for lack of a better word or term) emerge as well. Lil J has been challenging me for a little while now, which I'm not enjoying too much, but am remaining consistent in my discipline. And he is also very much an entertainer. He LOOOVES to make people laugh & to be the center of attention. He is most likely the youngest of his generation (on hubby's side of the family) & that definitely makes him the center of attention.
