DIY Chalkboard Organizers
I'll be the first to admit that I always seem to have too much on my plate. I somehow always put myself in positions where I get "voluntold" to do things. I have issues with being able to say NO to people. I'm also the kind of person who sees things through to the end if I've given my word. As a result, I can often be found running around like a crazy person, trying to get everything done. If my head weren't attached to the rest of me, I wouldn't know where to find it!
I also traced Hubby, Little One, and myself (just for fun) and painted those shapes with chalkboard paint too. This way we can leave notes for each other. If you look carefully, you can see Hubby has his "Honey Do List" up and I'm using mine to write important phone numbers! There's even a little spot for Little One to doodle and write on.
My solution? Well, instead of just saying "no" for a change? I made an organizing station in my office with chalkboard paint. I find the boxes on calendars are often too small to write evrything on. I use my Blackberry and Tablet for appointments and meetngs, but often find I still need that handwritten note to really make me remember where I'm supposed to be, when I'm supposed to be there, and what I'm supposed to be doing.
I know. I've got serious issues with remembering things!
I made a large blackboard and sectioned off 8 blocks. One block for each day of the week and one larger box for notes.
It was a fun project and it didn't take too much time. I'm still not finished completely. I'd like to paint borders around the chalkboard squares.
* Level of difficulty - Easy. Make sure your work area is well ventilated. If you can, paint the items you need painted outside. The fumes were pretty strong!

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Oh Awesome! I've been wanting to work with chalkboard paint for a while now. I just need to find a nice place in the house to put it and hopefully get my spare room turned into new office all together and I'll definitely will be using some.
I love the idea of your cut outs, how freaking cute is that. My kiddos would love that!
Your chalkboard is amazing! I am super impressed. When do you find the time for everything you do?
I would love to do something w chalkboard paint! If I was crafty that is... :)
haha...too cool! We have a whiteboard calendar, this looks more fun though :)
How cool! I'm hoping to use this when we reno Sydney's room and give her an area to write on..
Planning on doing a chalboard wall in the playroom. I love the idea of tracing them and filling it in...
Super idea and tons of fun :)
umm..holy moly i LOVE LOVE the outlines!!!! SUCH a cool idea!!
Totally adorable.
Eric has been wanting to make a chalkboard wall for years. But now we're renting so it's trickier. He has a pretty cool plan for it though...on the list if other cool plans :)
Just us Girls:
:) Little One LOVES the idea of having Mommy, Daddy, and Little One shapes that we can write notes and messages on!
Country Mouse:
LOL! I don't know. I've been told I need to slow down a bit though!
Insane Mamacita:
No need to be crafty! It's super easy :) If you don't want to use chalkboard paint, I've seen decals you can stick on your wall that are sort of like chalkboard material.
Did you know Canada:
Ooooh! I love the idea of a whiteboard calendar!!!
Sober Julie:
I also did the wardrobe in Little One's room. We got an old wooden wardrobe from friends (it sort of looks like the one from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe). I decided to paint the panels so that Little One could draw and have fun with her friends.
Such a cool and crafty idea!
The traced shapes are so cool! That gives me so many cool ideas for kids room walls. Chalk handprints anyone?
That is pretty friggen awesome!! Love
nicole:
