Why I'm Excited About Meeting Up with @FordCanada at #SCCTO!

When I attended the ShesConnected Conference in Toronto last year, I was impressed that they had Ford Canada as the conference's major sponsor.  I was also impressed by the t-shirts we got from Ford and ShesConnected that were personalized with our Twitter handles!  Immediately, I felt that Ford was a brand that kept in mind the little things that make their fans and customers happy.

Okay, it is also no secret that we love Ford vehicles.  We currently have three vehicles, and one of them is a Ford Explorer.  I've been trying to postpone the inevitable because I am having a hard time saying good-bye, but my Explorer is up there in age and in mileage, and has served us well.  It's a '96 Explorer and I love it!  I have to admit that the newer Explorer looks sleeker and I am really excited about the features it has that mine doesn't. This said, I also think the Ford Flex would also be a practical one for taxiing my family to and from activities and events. My dream car is actually a Ford Mustang GT convertible.

Isn't that a great looking vehicle? One of the reasons I love the Explorer is because I live in a rural area, on an island, and having a vehicle I can trust in all sorts of road conditions is key. Friends and family who visit us on the island even think our laneway (a driveway, but as long as a street!) is like off-roading!

Anyway, to be able to engage with a company I trust (have I told you how much I love my Explorer and don't want to bid her farewell yet?) was an incredible experience. The Ford representatives who were at #SCCTO were friendly, engaging, and full of information I wanted to know.

I was really interested in learning all about the latest, greatest, newest features and how Ford was making 'green' initiatives. Not only was Ford Canada's presence at the conference interesting and engaging, but it was FUN!  One of the things I thought was brilliant was the CAReoke! Get it? Kind of like karaoke but in a car?! Too fun!  Seeing conference attendees singing "Shot through the heart, and you're to blame, darlin' you give love a bad name" from the top of their lungs and having a blast...CLASSIC.

The one thing I am really looking forward to this year is getting to chat with Ammar Khan.  I really wanted to chat with him last year, but the line up to chat with him was SO long! I'm  not kidding! I kept thinking I'd come back, but the line ups were always long. Ammar was in demand at the conference last year! Hopefully this year I'll get a chance. It's always nice to speak in person when you've been tweeting for a while!

I can honestly say that Ford Canada really has a great social media team and they really know how to work with and interact with bloggers and social media enthusiasts. All the reps I've tweeted with have been wonderful at answering any questions I've had regarding Ford vehicles (like which Ford vehicle I should get next to replace my '96 Explorer). I love how engaging and professional Ford's social media team is.

When I think of top brands who pride themselves on customer relations, Ford comes to mind immediately. I'm very excited about #SCCTO this week! I'm so happy to be returning to #SCCTO as an ambassador this year and even happier that Ford is going to be returning as well! I'm looking forward to seeing what new and exciting things Ford has in store for everyone!

Connect with Ford on Twitter and on Facebook!

If you're on Twitter, Monday night (tonight!) there will be a Ford/SCCTO chat on Twitter at 9PM EST. Make sure to follow @FordCanada and @shesconnected, and the #FordSCCTO hashtag.

Ford had a really fun set up last year, I liked that they got us really involved with the vehicles. i would have loved to drive in one, even as a passanger, like if they provided rides to the parties it would be a fun way to really check it out on the road.

I'm thinking a Ford Road Trip to Manitoulin Island would be a great way to test out the vehicles! What do you think? ;)

I can't wait to meet the @FordCanada team as well. Within a matter of hours, I had 5 different Ford people following me on Twitter after mentioning #SCCTO. Now that's service!!!

Can't wait to meet them and you too. Few more sleeps left!

And wow.... a 96 Explorer! Talk about getting your bang for your buck. None of my cars have lasted that long.

Ummmm...Remember, you're talking to a girl who married a frugal farmer! LOL! Getting your bang for your buck is in the blood. Maybe more so in his blood than in mine though! LOL!
