pampered pooches

Anyone out there have any tips on nail clipping for man's (uhh and woman's) best friend? My pooch has a very sensitive back paw and will not let anyone get close to it. I desperately need to clip his nails!!!

Here's a pic of Chance as a baby :)

cris- try straddling your puppy (souds bad but i dont meean it that way!) and grab his paw so he's standing on three legs and while you have him like that, clip his nails. if he's really squirmy and wiggly, you can hold him down and talk to him reasurringly, and soothe him, while your hubby takes the clippers and does the deed for you. sometimes tag team efforts work best.

our dog is sensitive with his feet too so i know what ur going thru.

good luck and let us know how it goes. hope this helps!

Try giving him a treat and petting him. Our vet told us to make it part of our dog's grooming routine and make our dog feel like nail clipping is a fun thing!

Does your puppy seriously need nail clipping? Or can he not self-cut his nails? What I mean is can he just wear down his nails by running on pavement? Is he running enough on pavement?
