Ohhh nooooooooooooo!!!
One of my favorite TV personalities died on Monday :( I'm sure many of you are familiar with the name "Steve Irwin" aka The Croc Hunter. He was killed by a stingray barb while filming an underwater shot for one of his television series.. Soooooooo sad. I loved that guy!! Perhaps it's his Aussie accent...or the fact that he was a great wildlife icon and a passionate conservationist. I'll miss watching that crazy guy on TV.

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Ya, I remember watching him on TV. He was a funny guy. Crazy, but funny! Gotta love those Aussie boys! lol
A friend of mine made a good point in a post re: Steve Irwin's death. I blogged about Steve Irwin's death :) I did enjoy watching his TV show when I was a kid. She's right though- many other wonderful people have died and have gone unmentioned. I think that it's important to acknowledge the lives of those who have made an impact on the world and those who have made an impact on their loved ones. Just because someone is a celebrity doesn't mean that their life is worth celebrating more than someone else who isn't a celebrity. I do think that his death was on the news because of the fact that he is someone that people recognize. If I had a blog back when Trudeau, Ghandi or Mother Theresa died, I probably would have blogged about them :) Not that Steve Irwin is comparable to the aforementioned, but you get the picture :)
to each their own. now if dolce & gabanna or perhaps stella mccartney died in a plane crash... just kidding, jill! ;)
obviously he was an icon of youth which we down south seem to really worship. he definitely had a vim for life and i am sad he died and left tow kiddos behind.
LOL! You always make me laugh, Ms. Mamma! :) Cheers!
PS. Love the pic of your preggo friend! She's gorgeous!! Oh, and you, my dear, have got crazy talent behind the camera! I'm tellin' ya, someone should snatch you up and hire you for some serious photo gigs!
Kathy Van Zeeland would get a full week of tribute from me!!!
:) I had a feeling you'd say that about Kathy Van Zeeland, Jill! Hey, did you ever get a KVZ bag??? I checked online for some of her bags/purses. Very cute!!!
I've had some in the past. The gold one I brought to your shower was KVZ, and I have a black belted one as well. No new ones though...
Yeah, I was eye-balling that cute bag at my shower!!! Couldn't help drooling :) Very cute!! (and I love the color!)
