Ohhh nooooooooooooo!!!

One of my favorite TV personalities died on Monday :( I'm sure many of you are familiar with the name "Steve Irwin" aka The Croc Hunter. He was killed by a stingray barb while filming an underwater shot for one of his television series.. Soooooooo sad. I loved that guy!! Perhaps it's his Aussie accent...or the fact that he was a great wildlife icon and a passionate conservationist. I'll miss watching that crazy guy on TV.

A friend of mine made a good point in a post re: Steve Irwin's death. I blogged about Steve Irwin's death :) I did enjoy watching his TV show when I was a kid. She's right though- many other wonderful people have died and have gone unmentioned. I think that it's important to acknowledge the lives of those who have made an impact on the world and those who have made an impact on their loved ones. Just because someone is a celebrity doesn't mean that their life is worth celebrating more than someone else who isn't a celebrity. I do think that his death was on the news because of the fact that he is someone that people recognize. If I had a blog back when Trudeau, Ghandi or Mother Theresa died, I probably would have blogged about them :) Not that Steve Irwin is comparable to the aforementioned, but you get the picture :)

to each their own. now if dolce & gabanna or perhaps stella mccartney died in a plane crash... just kidding, jill! ;)

obviously he was an icon of youth which we down south seem to really worship. he definitely had a vim for life and i am sad he died and left tow kiddos behind.

I've had some in the past. The gold one I brought to your shower was KVZ, and I have a black belted one as well. No new ones though...
