Something my mom sent me

She thought this 1955 Housekeeping Monthly article was interesting. I am so glad I wasn't a wife in 1955! (click on the image to enlarge- hopefully you can read it)

Check out this link for an article about women in the workplace from Transportation Magazine, July 1943.

For example "Give the female employee a definite day-long schedule of duties so that they'll keep busy without bothering the management for instructions every few minutes. Women make excellent workers when they have their jobs set out for them, but they lack initiative in finding work themselves."

PS: Hope my wife has a good sense of humor if she reads this!! :-)

my grandmother used to wait for my grandfather after work and greet him by giving him something cool to drink and handing him the newspaper as she gave him a foot massage. She still thinks a good wife always serves her husband.

My grandma too, Anon! She still tells me to put food on my husband's plate for him :) I'm like, "Uhhhh...he knows how to put his own food on his plate." :) She's cute!

Hey Chrissy!
Is that artical real? -It's hilarious!
I remember when my grandparents were still alive, my grandmother would wait on my grandfather hand and foot....After eating his dinner (or lunch or snack) he would pull out his false teeth and and hand them to my grandmother for her to wash!!!
