Throwback Thursday #5
Once again, it's time for another walk down memory lane. Inspired by the girls at Pinks and Blues, here's my weekly installment of oldies but goodies! Looking at this first photo brings bittersweet memories. This photo was taken in my grandparents' home when my grandfather was still alive. I really miss those times spent there. I loved going to my grandparents' house!
This pic makes me feel happy because I remember how wonderful a bond I had with Baby Bro when he was a wee one, but it also makes me sad because I really wished I could have frozen time and kept him as teeny tiny as he was then. He had the most adorable red cheeks all the time, and he was such a drool monster. I love that kid!!!
For my grandparents' 50th Golden Anniversary, we had a HUGE party for them. They renewed their wedding vows and celebrated with all their loved ones. It was quite the spectacular and memorable event! My grandfather has since passed away and every time I look at this picture, I remember all the fun times we had and what an amazing and wonderful man my grandfather was.
In case you are wondering...Yes, we are all wearing gold, since the theme was their Golden Wedding Anniversary! We had all our dresses custom-made and designed by us. My dress looked a lot nicer on paper! Once I had it on, I was shocked at how poofy it looked! LOL!

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

check out my throw back- i think you'll fall of your chair laughing so hard!!!
Aww, we had a golden anniversary for my grandparents too! What a wonderful time to celebrate family - and they too renewed their vows :)
Thanks for sharing :)
...but poofy was the "thing" back then...:o)
Great pictures.
Another great TT post, Chrissy!! You can totally see Baby Bro's cute red cheeks in that first picture. Your grandparents' party must have been so special and memorable. I am so sorry your grandfather isn't with you anymore.
Thanks for sharing the pictures and the memories!

Dina:
I checked out your TT! LOL! Those are great pics! It's so fun to look at old pics! Wait for my next TT! I've got some funny ones coming! :)
Dawn:
Isn't it sweet when a couple can stay married for 50 + years? My grandparents were soooooo cute together :) I always wished to have the type of marriage they had.
Shana:
LOL! I don't think I could ever do "poofy" ever again! :) Thanks for popping by my spot on the net! I'm going to hop on over and check out your blog!
Jane:
Thank you :) Oh, and thanks for starting TT! It's so much fun...and look how many people are doing it too now!!!
Love the pics Chrissy.
You must have all looked stunning in gold, and poofy was the fashion.
Chrissy - great pics as usual. I know what you mean about freezing time - doing my own TT today reminds me of how little my brother was at one time, but also how quickly my own Liam is growing, as every so often I see glimpses of my brother in my own beautiful boy. Can't believe my bro is going to be a daddy in a few short weeks!
Your family shots with your grandparents are fantastic! It's great that you're all in together as a theme with the gold!
