Goin' to the market

One of the things I enjoy about living on the island is going to the Farmers' Market. One can find everything from local organic produce, to handmade sweaters, baked goods, jams, jellies, soap, pottery, and all sorts of crafts. It's a fun way to mingle with your neighbours as well as support local vendors. Here's a link for all those interested in going to the market: http://www.manitoulinfarmersmarket.com/ .

As a non-corporeal being, I am unable to partake in material sustenance, and therefore this post enrages me.

You are so lucky to have those where you live. I go 30-40 mins out of the city to get my fix. How lucky you are to live on an island where people grow and sell organic produce and sell their baking and crafts. One of these days, we'll get there too.

Thank you for commenting. We welcome a diverse range of opinions to challenge our thoughts on the subject. Since you are unable to partake in material sustenance, I guess I won't recommend that you try this lovely Greek bread I just discovered at the market. It's got black olives and sesame seeds and it is absolutely deeelish!

Thanks! Today there weren't too many people at the market. In the summer, the markets are always buzzing with locals, 'cottagers'/summer residents and tourists. We're at the tail end of things now, but the vendors still have wonderful things to sell.

Aren't markets the greatest! I attend most of the local markets regularly - I even had a stall for a while selling our macadamia nuts.

Eventually we found a more reliable outlet for them but it was fun taking them to the market (apart from the very early morning start).

You took me to a farmer's market when I visited you last year. I loved it. I think i bought some apple jelly and local honey - oh and I bought some bread and a pie. Those ladies on the island sure can bake amazing pies! Next time I get over there you'll have to tkae me to the market again.

Does that guy (I think his name is Dylan?) still sell his earrings and necklaces and stuff at the market? Do you know if he sells his stuff online?

L8terz!

Ohhhhhhhhh! I LOVE macadamia nuts! I don't suppose it's legal to ship them to Canada, is it? LOL! CK got away with smuggling our homemade maple syrup to Hong Kong, so I wonder if I could get my hands on some macadamia nuts? I doubt they'd let them get through customs though :( So sad. LOL!

I LOVE freshly baked bread. I love the way it smells!

His name is Dylon and he's got a website. I don't know if he sells online though. Check out his site. He does sell his creations at the markets and some of the fairs (Trade Fair, Snowflake Fair, etc).

CK:
Yeah, nothing beats homemade or freshly baked bread :) It smells so 'homey'. Oh, we were really good and were sparing with the treats you gave us. I rationed the treats so they'd last longer! LOL! We still have the Milk Chewy candies and a bit of the Mojito left. Other than that, it took us a few weeks to consume...errr...relish everything else! Thank you! We love you! xo

What does a non-corporeal being consume since a non-corporeal being cannot partake in material sustenance?
