Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
- Robert Frost

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

hi c - isn't this the same poem they quote in S.E. Hinton's, "The Outsiders"?
Stay Gold Ponyboy!
Little one looks so cute!!!! Enjoy her as much as possible! This is such a fun stage!

Oh dear - her first car! That really is growing up too quickly.
bittersweet
trying to stay in and enjoy the moment, yet anticipating what will come next.
bittersweet
Peace!
Canine:
Yes! That *IS* the same poem! S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" was one of my fave books in high school. I still love it!!
Awwww! I always get weepy whenever I hear someone say "Stay Gold, Ponyboy!" Amazing how many now famous actors were just starting off their careers in the movie "The Outsiders", eh?! Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, Diane Lane...
P.S. Not sure if you got to see my other blog. There are some awesome chocolates I have to send you!! OR I can wait until you get here and we can go together!
Merinz:
*sigh* I know. Her first car! She *is* growing up too quickly! I don't suppose I told you that we got her car for FREE at a yard sale? The sticker said $5 on it, but it was given to us.
Barbara:
Yes...that *is* bittersweet. Quite possibly the most perfect description of "bittersweet" too.
How are you doing, btw? xoxo
hi c - don't forget crack head Leif Garrett who played one of the soshes.
almost everyone in the outsiders was good looking (except emilio); i particularly crushed on matt dillon...
and rob lowe too!!!!!
those two still look pretty hawtt!
Canine:
Whoa! Love, love, LOVED Matt and Rob! Still think they're hawwwwwt! I even liked Tom Cruise back then. Now he's just weird. I don't even like his acting anymore. Patrick Swayze was good in that movie too. Ahhhh...LOVE Matt!!!
Did you think Ralph was cute too?? I was never an Emilio fan. My best friend in elementary school was in love with him and had posters from Tiger Beat and Bop magazines all over her walls! LOL!
Funny how times have changed. Do kids still hang posters of actors and bands on their bedroom walls and in their lockers at school?
yes, ralph macchio was kind of cute in a fetal way (woo hoo, karate kid part 1). i wasn't too keen on swayze, but he is atractive. same with tom cruise. you're right - that was before he got all weird and couch jumpy and scientology gung ho.
Chrissy - thanks for visiting my blog - just thought that I would let you know I did some corrections to some incorrect figures that were on the video.
