What Makes Summer "All Good" For You? WIN $100 for Pinning w/ The McCain All Good Pinathon

Ahhh! I can almost picture it. Gentle breeze blowing through my hair as the waves wash over my feet at the beach. Feeling the sand between my toes, and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore (drowned out by the boisterous cries of glee from my four year old as she makes and destroys a sand castle).  Those are but a few things that make me smile when I think of Summer.

Those last few days of school are within reach and the feeling of freedom and celebration of Summer are almost within grasp.  There's also nothing like going for an ice cream cone on a hot Summer day and just "being".  No worries in the world.  Just good times.  Ice cream and the beach?  It's "All Good"!

Some other things I love the most about Summer is the fact that we can get delicious fresh produce from our gardens and farmers' markets!  Picnics, BBQs, trips to the beach, and just lounging around the patio with family and friends for a meal are all part of what makes Summer so special to me.

FAMILY. FRIENDS. FUN. FOOD.

Yep! That's what Summer means to me.  That's what makes Summer "All Good" for me!

McCain wants to know some of what makes Summer "All Good" for you too!

The McCain All Good Pinathon

To find out what makes Summer all good for you, McCain is hosting an All Good Pinathon and awarding $100 each to 5 pinners whose boards make them "laugh, cry, or do a conga line around the office!" For full criteria, please see rules and regulations below. Entering is fun and easy:
  1. Create a board on Pinterest and name it “McCain All Good Pinathon.”
  2. Pin the things that make summer all good for you. For example: a perfectly ripe peach, the smell of grass, a picnic with friends
  3. Include one pin from McCain that makes you feel happy.
  4. Tag each pin in your board with the keyword McCainAllGood and you’re good to go! So good luck!

This is great for all those who love Pinterest and love Pinning!  I'm a self-professed Pinterest addict.  I can get lost for hours Pinning recipes, DIY ideas, crafts, items for my Dream House, and more!

The contest goes from June 13th to July 11th.  You can win 1 of 5 $100 Gift Cards! C'mon...Go ahead and Pin! You know you wanna!

Here are some of things that make Summer "All Good" for me!

Where to Print Photos? We Love @PosterjackDotCA

The way she giggles and the way her big, bright smile lights up the room make me want to cling onto every moment I have with Little One.  I realize this may sound a bit over the top, but Little One being the miracle baby that she was makes me appreciate and value her so much more than I could have ever imagined.

She's an only child at the moment and if you visit our home, you will see that I've tried to capture many of our special moments with Little One. As a parent of a single child, I have hundreds and hundreds of photos of my four year old.

For parents, both new and experienced, with all the baby photos and family photos, you've surely asked the question "Where to print photos?"

We were introduced to Posterjack.ca almost two years ago and we have become fans for life. The quality of the products we have ordered has always been first rate. We've always been incredibly pleased with our "wall art".

I was recently given the opportunity to see why Posterjack and the Posterjack team are Canada's photo art experts. I was able to order a product of my choice, in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is what I selected:
I got our family photo framed and we are extremely pleased with the product! The photo itself was expertly printed. It was stunning! The custom framing could not have been done any better! Plus, it came ready to hang!

What I love about Posterjack is that it's so easy to upload your photo, choose what kind of framing and mounting you want, and then order it online. So easy and so quick! We've always had amazing service with Posterjack as well. Their customer service team is phenomenal. They make sure you are 100% happy with your product.

Where to print photos?

As I've mentioned earlier, we are true fans of Posterjack.ca. Beautiful products, efficient and timely service,  and great customer service make a winning combination.

Since Mother's Day is fast approaching, if you hurry, you may be able to order something special for your mom, grandma, or wife! Here are 5 Mother's Day Gift Ideas via @PosterjackDotCA!

Trick-or-Treating photography tips & Kodak's Free Print Week!

Being a parent of an only (for now) child, I tend to take a lot of photos of Little One! Yes, A LOT of photos! Halloween is an exciting time (and an occasion that gives ample photo opportunities)!  How can a parent resist taking pics of their little cuties all decked out in adorable costumes?

Kodak has these tips for parents (like me!) who will be snapping a million Halloween photos two weeks from now!

"Whether they’re posing for the camera or running to the next house for candy, keep these tips in mind when capturing the excitement of your little witches and goblins parading in their costumes:

·         Check your settings: Digital cameras have a special feature for night-time photography called Night Portrait which captures the subject and background clearly. Better yet, the Kodak EasyShare Touch Digital Camera features Kodak’s Smart Capture which automatically adjusts camera exposure, focus, and ISO for clear pictures in any environment, even in low light.
·         Keep it steady: For night-time photography, using a tripod will help to eliminate blur in your photos. Don’t have a tripod handy? No problem. Brace your camera on a railing or a solid surface.
·         Include a silhouette: Add some depth and perspective to your Halloween photos. Turn off your camera's flash option and photograph silhouettes in the foreground--like the silhouette of a jack-o-lantern or the wings of a fairy costume.
·         Add some blur in your background: The Kodak EasyShare Touch features a variety of post-capture effects and retouching tools, including background blur. Adding the background blur effect will create more emphasis on your subject.

Spooky Photography
Making people appear transparent, ghostly, two-headed, and just plain eerie in photos is easy to achieve, even without costumes. Try these spooky photo ideas to scare your friends and family this Halloween.

Visit: Kodak Spooky Photography tips, for detailed instructions on how to make ghostly images, double exposures, and eerie scenes."

Great tips for capturing cool, memorable moments our kids will cherish forever! Thanks, Kodak! Oh! Wait! It gets even better! Kodak wants to let you know about Kodak’s Free Print Week - You can print photos from your Facebook account for free directly from a Kodak Picture Kiosk from October 17 through October 23 at select Kodak Picture Kiosks in Canada.

Simply "Like" Kodak on FACEBOOK during this time period and opt to receive emails from Kodak in the future. By doing so, FACEBOOK users will be able to download a coupon to print up to twenty (20) free 4x6 instant prints from FACEBOOK at a Kiosk.

Sweet deal? I think so!
Have a howl of a time this Halloweeeeeen, boys and ghouls! Muahahahaha!

Okay, can you tell I'm just a little bit excited for Halloween?

Press Pause for Family

This year has been my first year teaching ESL again since I gave birth to Little One. I can honestly say that being a mom, a farmer's wife, an ESL teacher (among many other things), I've noticed just how valuable time with family is. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done or to be everything to everyone. Little One craves my attention and I am reminded of the need to "Press Pause" and take time for family...even when you're exhausted from everything else.

Now that Summer is here, our weekends are filled with countless baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, and other special occasions. Every weekend of the Summer has been booked with one thing or another. Thanks to Hallmark, we've got all our bases covered!

As part of the Hallmark Press Pause Panel, I have the opportunity to sample and review some fabulous Hallmark products.  Hallmark has been a trusted brand in our family ever since I can remember. With thoughtful greeting cards for every occasion to keepsakes to pass down to family members (photo frames, albums, etc), they've got something special for every loved one on your list.

I was excited (and shocked) to receive this in the mail! It is now one of my absolute favourite items in our house.
I love my new family tree from Hallmark! The branches can hold little picture frames that hang from them. Photos of the special people in your life can be put in the frames and displayed on this gorgeous tree. It makes a great focal point/centre piece/conversation piece!

I would definitely get this family tree for any of my friends or even for my mom, aunts, or grandmother. Anyone who loves displaying photos of their family would love this beautiful family tree.
I have to admit that ever since I gave birth to Little One, I've been addicted to scrapbooking and memory keeping. Hallmark now has a variety of amazing Recordable Memory Albums. You can relive stories from behind favourite photos and preserve them in an album. How cool is that? Little One can replay stories that go with the photos of all of her favourite people (Ahem! Grampy and cousin Kenny!).

We received this adorable Kids Recordable Memory Album and a Disney Recordable Storybook with Sound. Little One immediately went for the What Makes a Princess? storybook! She loves the Disney princesses and she LOVES books!
Little One and I read lots and lots of books together. I think we go through a dozen books each night. She'd have me read all of her books if I let her! The beauty of the recordable storybooks is that I can record my voice reading the book and if for some reason I'm not able to read to Little One at night, Daddy can either read the book to her or play my voice reading it!

I now have lots of great gift ideas for all occasions! I appreciate thoughtful gifts and what can be more special than helping preserve all those amazing memories with loved ones? I love the recordable storybooks for kids, scrapbooks, photo albums, picture frames, gifts for all occasions, and of course the greeting cards!

For more gift ideas, check out the Hallmark website.

Disclosure: I’m part of the Hallmark Press Pause Panel and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Posterjack.ca Is Back!!!

Not too long ago, I wrote about how much we love Posterjack.ca.  I was introduced to this fabulous Canadian company and really liked the quality of their products as well as their excellent customer service and quick delivery.
Remember this piece in particular? It's a photo of Little One in her tutu (I selected Frameless Mounting).
Needless to say, we are very pleased with how this photo turned out!

Now Posterjack.ca has Metal Photo Prints! I like the idea of metal canvases that float off the wall.
They use UV sensitive inks-that won’t fade. This means that they can be used indoors or out. They’d be amazing on a patio or in a loft space.

"To create the metal print, Posterjack prints directly on brushed aluminum, which produces a brilliant sheen that traditional printing on paper or canvas can't deliver. As an additional unique feature, any white in an image will show through as brushed metal, giving a 3D depth to the print."

I know I'm a bit late in telling you about this great new product, but it would be a fabulous Father's Day gift (or an "any other occasion" gift)!
