Where did you say you were from???

Ever since I added ClustrMaps to my blog, I've noticed that readers who visit my blog come from all over the globe. It struck me as being really funny, because:

#1 My blog is kind of boring and not very interesting.
#2 I started the blog to keep in touch with family, friends and students now that I have moved out of the city and to an island that is in the middle of the Great Lakes.
#3 I never advertise or promote my blog, so I assumed it was tucked away, well hidden in cyber space.

Looking at my Clustr Map, I am interested to see where everyone is from! Which part of the globe are you located and how did you find this sorry excuse for a blog? :)

PS. I was considering changing the blog, since I noticed most blogs have a theme or an actual point. There are cooking blogs, humour blogs, mommy blogs (which a lot of my friends have), teaching blogs, travel blogs, etc. I was thinking maybe I should focus on one thing instead of lumping everything under one roof. What do you think?

I, like you, have a Random Thoughts blog. It works for me because I'm rather random and would rather write about anything and everything instead of focusing on one topic.

Don't reign me in by no rules! ;-)

BTW - I'm in California and found your blog via.... well, YOU! You found me via J.

Cherry:
Yeah, I'm kind of random too! LOL! As you may have noticed, I've got recipes, funny stuff, product reviews, book reviews, movie reviews, random thoughts...all lumped together.

Hahaha! Yes, that's right! I did find your blog via J's blog...which I found through Ms.Mamma's blog!

You know where I live! And I found your blog because you told us you were starting one last year :0) Do you have room for us if we visit in Aug. or Sept.? Are you going to swing by us on the way back from Mtl. in Aug.? TTYL!

Random blogs are the most interesting ones. I just write about whatever is on my mind, and that means for some very random thoughts. As far as the clustermap...I think I'm going to add one of them to my blog as well. I don't even know where I found your blog...off of someone else's page, but I don't remember where. Have a good week!

I like you just the way you are :). My blog is kind of random too, sometimes I focus on being a Mom and sometimes I just ramble. That's what makes it fun. I think I found you (or maybe you found me) via Northern Mom.

Location- Japan
How I found your blog- random search for ESL, Japan blogs

Had me some okonomiyaki and Asahi and thought of you. You mentioned before that you love okonomiyaki. You do know that Hagen Daaz has green tea ice cream in Japan, yeah?

Keep it random Chrissy! I enjoy your blog!

I do know that some people will have different blogs for different purposes...like a book blog for book reviews, a mommy blog if they have kids, a movie or cooking or knitting, whatever blog. Me? I'm with you. I prefer the random ones, that kind of cover a gamut of topics. Keep it up, and no, not boring.

I wouldn't change a thing Chrissy. I love your blog just as it is.
Mine started as a mommy blog, but has morphed into more random stuff - after all, although it's my most important job in the world, there is more to me than just being a mom (I have to remind myself of that!).

Your blog came up in a googlesearch for Carter Bay. My wife and I are Torontonians who visited the island last year and were blown away by the beach/dunes/deerprints/rabbits/pollywogs/unidentified animal leg/etc.... I enjoy the randomness of your blog, the little insights, slice-of-life type stuff all adds up.

It's sort of a Manitoulin touchstone until we can afford to retire and descend upon your little island to build our giant 7000sqft "McCottage" (just kidding)

Your blog is ANYTHING but boring, Christine! You may not fit into a certain "cookie-cutter" type of blog, but what you have to say is always interesting, always entertaining, always thought-provoking and always wonderful to read.

I think I originally found your blog when I was looking for other doggy mamas! And I certainly found one in you - one very similar to me - crazy about our doggy kids! :)

Your blog is far from boring! It keeps me coming back every day for a read. I don't have much time for comments, or to update my own blog.
I just might get to that tonight.
I hope to be on the Island the Tues or Wed after Haweater. We have a wedding at Ice Lake on the 11th but so far no other plans except for a daytrip to meet you!

Chrissy!!! I love yourr andom blog! Don't change a thing! I like that you write about what you are thinking of at the moment, not trying to follow a theme!!! That's what makes it interesting: real thoughts and adventures of a real (and really nice, smart and funny) person!!!

Google searched Manitoulin Island and was pleasantly surprised to find your blog. I've been checking it out daily ever since, even if I don't comment each time.

Keep the blog as is! There's a reason people keep coming back to read more!

Chrissy, I love your blog. I obviously started coming here because my daughter Jane loved it so much and always talked about you, but I come back here because of the way you write, and the wonderful way about you. You are a special person!

P.S. We named you a Rockin' Girl Blogger on our site. Go check it out!

Uhhhhhh...September would be a better time for you to visit, as we will be having students with us in July and August. I don't know if we will be passing through TO in August, since it's out of our way from Montreal. We will try to make it down south in the fall though. We'll see :)

M:
Wow! I am so shocked! I didn't even know that I had a reader named "M" that visited my blog! Honestly, this is a pretty low key blog, so I was surprised that you found it! Thank you for popping by and please feel free to leave me a note whenever you feel like it! I just checked out your blog too! Great blog! :)

Beach Mama:
You are awesome! Thank you for your great comments! You're such a positive person and your comments give me that pick me up whenever I need them!

Pete:
Okay...I am jealous! You ate okonomiyaki and macha ice cream!?! I didn't care much for Asahi or Sopporo, because I'm not a beer fan. I think you seriously need to start your own blog and take lots and lots of photos of everything I'm missing in Japan! Then I'd be reeeeeeally jealous! LOL!

mrinz:
Hi! Thank you for visiting my blog. I do enjoy all your comments and I enjoy your blog as well. Speaking of which, I clicked on the link today and it said that the blog no longer exists! Please tell me that isn't true. I just LOVE reading about your life in NZ!

My blog doesn't have a point. It's just like me. I like that about this place.

Sad but true Chrissy, long story, would love to tell you over a coffee, maybe one day. However I will still visit your blog all the time.

Stay true to who you are. Everyone who reads your blog does so because of your genuiness. Don't try to reign yourself in to fit any kind of profile. Unless of course you feel compelled to, then it will feel right and will be authentic. Ick, I sound all new agey...

J:
So true. I guess I was just trying to figure out how to focus on one type of subject since this blog just seems like it really has no point. LOL! Truth be told, I actually kinda like the randomness! In person, I'm pretty random! LOL!

Karen:
I love your blog! I also love how you are a mommy, and so much more! You're a great writer, you're funny, you sound like you're so much fun to hang around with, you're smart...I can't wait to meet up with you sometime when I visit Jill, Dina and Danielle in TO next.

Paul:
WOW! Your comment was a total shock! I sometimes wonder just who reads this blog? I think it's neat that you were on the island and have seen some of the places I blog about. Carter Bay is my favourite place in the world. My husband and I got married on Carter Bay last year. You are right. The sand dunes, the beaches...everything is just so beautiful. It's hard not to fall in love with Carter Bay. (There are still a few lots for sale there!)
Thank you so much for popping by and leaving a comment! Hope you return to the island again soon.

Doggy Mama:
I always wondered how on earth we started corresponding! :) I'm so glad you randomly found me amongst the millions of blogs out in the blogosphere! LOL! Hopefully one day we will be able to meet. You, your mom and Audrey are great.

Barb:
I was wondering how you were doing! Hope all's well where you are. I hope we get a chance to get together when you're up after Haweater weekend! It's going to be crazy busy since you have a wedding to attend and a zillion people who want to spend time with you, but I hope we can meet up!

GM:
Yay!!!! I've been wondering how you've been too! I just checked your blog to see what you were you were up to. Busy is good though...it's better than bored! ;) I really look forward to reading your comments all the time. You are soooooo funny!

Hotmommy:
Can you get your keyboard fixed? Or maybe get a new one! LOL! I guess Little K's drink just fried the keyboard? LOL!

Claire:
LOL! OMG...you Googled Manitoulin and my blog was one of the links that came up? The reason I say OMG is because if you were able to do that, then I wonder who else has done that! The island is so small, and everyone knows everyone. I have to start being careful of what I write! LOL!

Sharon:
Thank you! I am so glad that you have started visiting my blog :) I really enjoy PBG and Jane's such a lovely person. She sent me a copy of your book and I just really, really enjoyed reading it! Thank you! I can see where Jane gets her sense of humour and kindness from!

Mist:
I LOVE your blog! LOL! I just love your writing style and the things you write about. Where is "the Dirty South" anyway?

mrinz:
Ohhhhhh noooooooo! Say it isn't true! I just LOVE your blog! Now I'm really sad. Anyway, you can keep in touch via commenting here or at cg underscore lee121875 at hotmail dot com. :)

Lotus:
LOL! Thanks for the comment! Stay true to myself...I guess that would mean to stay random! ;) I've always had problems being placed in a category...
PS. I will post some garden pics for you ASAP! ;)

I'm a lurker. I sometimes comment. Sometimes don't. I can't remember how I found your blog but it was sometime last year I believe. I'm located in the United States. Seattle area. You know, the place where all the crazy applicants came from for American Idol last season!

I'm an Islander, living in the US, so when I sometimes get homesick, I google Manitoulin to see what comes up. I also watch the bridge on the Anchor's website - that can bring a tear to the eye some days!

When your blog popped up one day, I thought I'd take a look and noticed some photos of people who looked pretty familiar. Tell your sister-in-law Beth says hi and that I'm hoping to come up for Labour Day!

Unknown said...

Cara:
Glad you found my blog and I love reading your comments when you do comment :) I've never been to Seattle, but I've always wanted to visit!

Anon:
Wow! You know my sister-in-law? What a small world! :) Soooooooo many people seem to know her. I guess working at the hospital and being involved in so many of her kids' activities, it's hard not to know her! She's a great gal! :) I'll tell her you say hello!

Nothing wrong with Random!
I had a great swim at a foggy Carter Beach last week, and was just testing to see if the place would show up in cyberspace. I'm glad it does, thanks to you.
I love the island. Just dropped in to meet an old friend who lives there.
Keep Manitoulin the way it is. Jealous of the fresh air you guys get to breathe over there.
Greetings from Amsterdam, Holland.
