Grrrrrr!

Okay...as much as I love living on the island, the one thing I do miss is getting together with my girlfriends. Gaviesgal and I used to go for Korean food, Indian food, and we once attempted to drink every type of martini on the drinklist at The Green Room in Toronto.

I'm kinda bummed because tomorrow I'll be missing a lunch date with CuriosityKiller, Gaviesgal, TheMommanista, Nathanial'sMommy and Karen. Boooo hooooooooo! :(

Boo, hoo.... :( we'll be missing you too Chrissy. I'd love to go through a martini menu with you (my fave drink - any will do)! Must put that on my list of "to-do's".
Won't be doing that tomorrow at lunch though, will have the kiddies there to keep me in line. Let's hope they don't give me too much grief (they're pretty good overall, but all kids have their moments).
You must let me know the next time you're in town as we HAVE to meet in person.

Hey Karen!
I was sooooooooo bummed when Curiosity Killer asked if I was available tomorrow! I really wish I were a bit closer so I could meet up with everyone for lunch! I miss going out to eat with Gaviesgal. She introduced me to so many Korean dishes! There was also a really good Indian restaurant near the house she and I rented with another friend of ours. I really, REALLY miss hanging out with the girls every once in a while!

I would also love to see the Mommanista too. The last time I saw her was a year ago at my bridal shower! That is just way toooooo long!

I will definitely let you know when I'll be in TO next. We have to get together!!

hey chrissy,
don't feel too bummed! i wasn't able to attend lunch today for a couple of reasons. The most important one being my sleeping son in the next room...he KNEW I had plans today and decided that he'd nap on a different schedule to throw those plans out the window..the second reason is i really need a haircut BADLY and could either use the $$ on lunch or get my hair cut. I'm going for a cut later-when my mom can come over to babysit as Elie probably wouldn't want to sit in the stroller watching me get my hair done (although he has done it in the past now that he is older he gets bored quicker) i'll post some before and after hair cut photos as soon as i can :)

Oh that's a Bummer Chrissy! Try drinking over the phone. My sis and I do that once in a while since she lives 3 hours away. We pour ourselves a glass of wine and sit around and chit chat on the phone. It's the next best thing to having cocktails somewhere!

Yes, we are kind of weird ;-))

That stinks. I hope you can make it up and visit with them in the future.

WHAT?! Dina skipped this lunch with MOI because she had a BAD HAIR DAY!?!?! Is she kidding?

Ok, well -- don't worry about that... I'll dropping by Manitoulin in a few weeks... besides, I'll have to have another attempt on this luncheon date another day with Dina and Danielle and maybe you'll be in town that day -- who knows?

I'm sorry, Christine!! I know how upsetting that must have been for you. Girlfriends are great.

Hopefully it won't be long before you will be able to get together with your gals (or at least most of them)!

Hi ladies (and Pavel)!
Yeah, that was just me doing my "pity party" thing! LOL! I'm okay now. One of my girlfriends from here came over for supper and it was soooooo nice to have her over. It was fun. It's funny how for girls, girlfriends are sooooo important. For guys, they can hang out with their friends or not see them for ages and either way, they're okay with that. I guess I just like the social aspect and the sharing and talking. I am such a girlie girl. *sigh*

Gaveiesgal, CK, Karen and Jill, hopefully we can do lunch sometime soon! I will try to get to TO again as soon as I can.

One of the treasures in life - when a friend calls and says hey - lets do lunch, or a coffee!

Hi Karen :)

My name is Jenn, and I'm planning a wedding on the island for next July 26th, 2008. I stumbled across your blog while searching for ideas, and I have to say, your wedding photos were absolutely stunning! Your idea of a great wedding is our idea, too.

My husband-to-be has spent every summer since he was 3 on the island; his parents have a cottage just west of Little current. Unfortunately, the water has receeded a great deal since he was little, and so there's no way to have a "beach" wedding at the family cottage.

We're hoping you might be willing to share some of you ideas and resources, such as who your photographer was, where you held the wedding (private propery, or public beach?), and your reception site. You can email us at cerelien (at) hotmail (.) com, if you think you might be willing to help us out. We'd really appreciate your expertise!

Thanks, and take care,
Jenn and Chris

You are absolutely right!! :) By the way, I began writing you an e-mail just to do some catching up, but my computer froze and I lost the darn e-mail! Grrr! Anyway, hope you are well and hope those grandbabies are doing well too!

Jimmy:
Why, thank you ever so much! LOL! I shall get on that meme asap! :)

Jenn and Chris:
Yay! Congrats to you both! Thanks for finding my blog. I just love, love, love wedding stuff...and a Manitoulin wedding too!!! I'll e-mail you asap to answer your questions. Take care and chat soon!
