Schmooze Fest!

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I had received an award today. Thank you so much Louann ! That was so sweet!

I also copied this from Louann because she did such a lovely job describing things :)
schmooze or schmoose also shmooze : v. intr. To converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.
And
Lancy furthers adds that "good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship."
As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I mainly blog to keep in touch with my friends, family and students who live far away from me. However, in the process of keeping in touch through my blog, I have come across many really interesting, friendly, kind, wonderful people out there. I hereby award this Schmooze Award to the following friends (both friends I know in person and blogging buddies).
Louann, I'd award you with the award, since you are such a sweet person and I enjoy our correspondence. Plus, I think it's sooooo cool that I now know someone who lives in Baguio!! You do not know how cool that is! LOL!
I'd also award The Pinks & Blues Girls, but Louann already gave them this award.
Karen, you deserve an award because you are such a fun (and funny) gal. You always know what to say and when to say it and you're just an all around wonderful person.
Cherry, you sound like someone I'd get along great with in person. You've always got such great comments and interesting stories to tell. Your personality shines through your writing.
Jill, I think you deserve this award because your blog is amazing and you always leave great comments. You're well read and resourceful. Eventhough I can't link you at the moment, I think your blog rocks. Those of you who have been reading my blog from the beginning will know that Jill is the friend who got me hooked on blogging. Jill's a great friend to have in real life and in the blog world.
Ms.Mamma: Hola amiga! I don't think I need to explain why you deserve this! You just do :)
Pavel, you are such a thoughtful person and I really think you deserve an award too!
Uncivil: For someone with the name Uncivil, you are really a great guy. The pep talks and the fact that you're so great with your doggies also gave you brownie points! LOL!
CuriosityKiller: I created a monster with CK! She's now a seasoned blogging veteran! She blogs more than I do and schmoozes more than I do now! She is a great gal in person and a wonderful friend to have...especially when you need a laugh and a good time! I love this girl!
Dina, a friend inside and outside of the blogosphere, is a really good friend to have. You may have seen pics of her beautiful family on my blog before. Dina deserves an award too, since she always knows how to brighten up my day with a note every now and then and she is a great listener and advice giver! :)
I think I am only supposed to award 5 people, but I just can't restrict myself to only 5!
Canine, Lotus, Kimmie, Mist1 and GirlieMonkey are also some of the coolest people in my book!

I don't have a blog so I don't suppose I get an award? What about the fact that I always leave comments on your blog and I'm always the FIRST person to comment on your posts! I deserve an award.

Congrats for getting yet another bloggy award thing.

That IS true... japanmanpete deserves "Biggest Blog Fan" award.

thanks for naming me! But I don't think I blog more than you do, do I? I think YOU blog more than I do. Especially lately, I'm practically MIA.

Thanks Chrissy. I am not as dedicated to my blog as some other people are and I am not a writer, so I mainly use my blog to share things that concern me at the time, which takes a load off of my real life friends :-) I am always surprised that people actually enjoy reading my ramblings.

I'm not surprised you won an award! Coming to your blog is like finding a comfy chair to sit in with a cup of coffee and a good relaxing book.
Congrats! Oh, and thanks for your warm comments. I love blogging about my kids, but you already knew that. (smile)

Why thank you miss Chrissy! and Congrats on your award!

I must laugh as just the other day I was trying to figure out how to spell 'Schmooze'. One of my favorite words but I don't think I had ever written it down!

Uncivil said...

"The Manitoulin Schmoozer"
"The Schmoozer from Manitoulin"
"The Royal Canadian Mounted Schmoozers" ....LOL!
I love that word!
May the Schmooze be with you!
Thanks for the mention, and Japanmanpete is number one fan!

Chrissy, I'm so sorry I missed your schmooze fest!!! I've been MIA out in cool Vancouver, and just DYING because I haven't been able to blog. Dear hubby had his laptop so I got a couple of posts in but couldn't do it regularly. I was in major withdrawal, hence major activity NOW! Thanks for naming me for this award. I've never really thought of myself as great at schmoozing, but perhaps with the online community I've found a calling!
Thanks again sweetie pie!

LOL! I gave it to you when you had one of your old blogs. The date was in July 2007, so I can see how it may have gone unnoticed :)
