Don't Know When I'll Be Back

The OB-GYN just called and wants me to get back to the hospital off-Island. The results from the ultrasound yesterday were not good. The cervix has thinned to the point where the baby can arrive any day now. He and his colleagues were discussing a controversial procedure: putting a stitch in my cervix. The risk is that it could actually break my water. My cervix is currently at 5mm...which is really bad. It should be around 1.5 cm right now. The doc spoke with his former professor/mentor at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto about my case and I may even have to be flown there if I go into labour now.

Needless to say, they want me in hospital from here on in. I don't know when I'll be able to give you any updates, but hopefully Hubby can keep you informed via the blog, e-mail (and for some of you by phone). Hopefully next time you hear from us, Junior will still be "hanging in" there and will have not yet made his grand appearance! Honestly, I was totally NOT expecting this at all.

Love and hugs,
C and Juniorxoxo

P.S. Yes, that is an actual photo of me when I was in the hospital over the weekend...Minus the very poorly PhotoShopped sad face! Did you honestly think I'd let you see how dreadful I look on bed rest...and in a hospital gown!? ;)

So sorry you are going through this Chrissy. I hope your little one stays in there at least a few weeks longer!!

I will be thinking of you in the next wee while. All my love and best wishes.

And I am guessing that the sweet little number they have dressed you in is one of those gowns that do up with tapes all down the back! Ventilated gowns.

We sure leave our dignity at the door when we enter hospital and gather the remnants of it when we leave.

PS - a New Zealand folk tale - if when you leave the maternity ward to go home and you are wearing your slippers instead of shoes, then you will be back there within a year.

My goodness, Chrissy!

Hang in there!

While being in a hospital may be a bummer for you, you're in the best and safest place to be.

Please have your hubby keep us posted...

Oh crap, I'm praying for you honey, truly. Do you think god listens to prayers from atheists? I figure, it can't hurt. Truly, you're in my thoughts and my heart.

Hi Chrissy, am so sorry to hear about your condition. But don't worry, I am sure you are in good hands. I'm praying that everything goes well and that you and Junior are okay.

Oh crap, I'm gonna spend all my time thinking about you now.

Here is hoping that hospital bedrest does it's trick and you keep that baby in for a nice long time. Like until Christmas.

Tell that hubby of yours to update as often as possible, even if he just writes that you are still pregnant. a 2 sentence blog post will keep me happy!

Sending you all my good thoughts.

Love,
Ellie

I just have to say how wonderful and special you are to take a moment and update your blog with this message to all those out there thinking and praying for you and your family. Even when things aren't going as planned, you still think of others.

Oh, and I love that photo! I think it's pretty cute and I'm glad you are still getting shots for memories even through the hard times.

Thinking of you all the time! HUGS!
