An Award for Me? :)

The lovely Christine from "My Life...." just nominated me for this awesome award. Thank you for thinking of me, Christine! The rules are:
1. Thank the person who gave this to you.
2. Copy the logo and place it in your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you.
4. Tell up to six outrageous lies about yourself and at least one outrageous truth.
5. Nominate 7 "creative writers" that might have fun coming up with outrageous lies.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know you nominated them.

Here we go! Time for my six lies and one truth! Ha! I love this game! I use this in my ESL classes when I teach students how to use the different "Past Tenses".

* I once broke into a private school's swimming pool in Japan with friends of mine and when we got caught, we made a quick escape by riding our bicycles through town and through the market place at day break. Soaking wet, of course!

* I once ate octopus testicles when I taught overseas. My Japanese students told me it was impolite to not try the local fare.

* While in British Columbia in the summer of '92, I went bungee jumping at the Bungee Zone.

* While at Dolphin Beach in Japan, my friends and I went jet skiing in the ocean and had to high tail it out of there because there were sharks in the water with us!

* My friends and I once went swimming in the ocean during typhoon season.

* In my younger days, I made a habit of hitchhiking.

* When I was a teenager, my friend and I would go skiing every weekend. We pretended we didn't know how to ski just so we could be up close and personal with these two hot ski instructors.

Now, it's up to you to find out which one of these is the TRUTH! :)

I am nominating the following Creative Bloggers:

Okay, here we go...
The truth and nothing but the truth? They're ALL true to some extent.

I once broke into a private school's swimming pool in Japan with friends of mine...
100% TRUE!!!

If you knew how hot summers in Japan are, you'd understand! I know, breaking and entering is a serious offense. We were young and stupid. Well, not so young. I think I was 23. Okay...not young, but definitely stupid.

I once ate octopus testicles when I taught overseas. 1/2 LIE

I *did* eat octopus balls, but it was octopus cut up in little pieces, coated in batter and then cooked. It's a Japanese dish called "takoyaki".

HA! I didn't know octopi even had testicles. Tentacles, yes. I Googled "octopus testicles" for this post and Hubby saw my search. He was kind of worried as to WHY his wife was Googling "octopus testicles"!!!

While in British Columbia in the summer of '92, I went bungee jumping at the Bungee Zone. LIE

Though I did go to the Bungee Zone in BC in the summer of '92, I chickened out and didn't end up bungee jumping. I'm way too afraid! LOL!

While at Dolphin Beach in Japan, my friends and I went jet skiing in the ocean and had to high tail it out of there because there were sharks in the water with us! 1/2 TRUE

We did go jet skiing at Dolphin Beach, and I did high tail it out of the water...but, it was because a Japanese friend of mine yelled "SHARK!!!" I don't know if there really was a shark, but let me tell you, my friends said they never saw a person swim that fast!! LOL!

My friends and I once went swimming in the ocean during typhoon season. LIE

We did go swimming, but it wasn't typhoon season. It was torrential downpour and the waves where a few feet high. We were insane and pretty much thought we were invincible. Now that I'm older and a Mom, I cannot believe some of the things we used to do!

In my younger days, I made a habit of hitchhiking. LIE

Are you kidding me?! I grew up in the city and that is something parents always teach their kids not to do! It's dangerous!
This said, the only time I ever hitch hiked was when I was in Japan and we got lost. I was with my adult students, a Japanese friend, my Mom and brother (who were visiting me from Canada while I was teaching in Japan). There was an old Japanese farmer who stopped and let us hop into the back of his truck. He drove us to the train station.

When I was a teenager, my friend and I would go skiing every weekend. We pretended we didn't know how to ski just so we could be up close and personal with these two hot ski instructors. 1/2 TRUE

We didn't go *every* weekend! LOL!
