Mommyhood for Dummies
Poor Little One was having a not so good very bad TERRIBLE day.
I took Little One to the medical clinic for her 15 month check-up and immunizations. She was pretty good, but after her shots she was listless, limp, dopey, and clingy (and she's not a clingy or cuddly baby). She also vomited all over herself and all over me before we left the doctor's office. Not only did she vomit (for the very first time in her 16 months on this planet! I'm talkin' full on vomiting and not just a little spit up!), but she haddiarrhea loose stool the runs!!! It went through her diaper, through her clothes, and all over the floor! It happened so quickly too! Poor kid.
Poor Mommy! Those of you who know me, know how weak a stomach I have. You know I've got the worst gag reflexes ever (even when I'm not pregnant!). Yuck! To think that just the other day I was telling Hubby how lucky I was that I never had to clean up vomit or diarrhea from Little One. HA!
TODAY'S LESSON FOR THE DAY:
1. Toddler vomit is disgusting.
2) Toddler diarrhea is just as disgusting as adult diarrhea. Enough said.
3) Diapers do absolutely nothing in the way of containing diarrhea and stopping it from escaping and going all over the floor!
5) Kids are resilient.
She must be feeling better now. See evidence below.I barricaded the area around my bookcase so Little One wouldn't pull all my books off the shelves. I have no idea how she managed to climb up and over the bins to get to the books! Crazy!
I caught her climbing into her wagon while watching her favourite show (The Doodlebops).Another sign that she's feeling a bit better: She refuses to let us put bunny ears on her.

I washed all the numbers and letters from her play mat and disinfected them.5) Kids are resilient.

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

She is sure growing up so fast.
poor little monkey. hope she's feeling better today. hey i wouldn't let you put bunny ears on me either! [[[[[[lol]]]]]]]]]
hang in there mommy. you're doing a great job.
Oh yeah, kids are super resilient... they can keep playing even if they're exhausted or sick... it's their nature and their gift of youth.
Sorry to hear that she's sick, but sounds like you're suffering more than she was. xx
OH! Give her a big hug for me. I hope she feels better soon and I hope you don't have to clean up too much puke and poop. Cute pix. She's so cute even when she's not feeling well. What a good baby.
You home tonight? If yes, I'll call you. Laytazzzz!
Awww...poor little one! AND poor mommy! Hope she really is better now.
(yeah, there's a reason the "runs" are called the "runs." ha ha)
AHAHAHAHA! I love the pic of her "helping" you wash the letters in the bathtub! She;s precious C!

Hubby:
I know! :( Our little girl is growing up so quickly! She's not a "baby" baby anymore. :( Wahhhh!
HM:
She seems to be feeling better today. Wow. There are a lot of things I wasn't prepared for being a Mom! Childbirth/premature delivery and cleaning up vomit and diarrhea are among those things I
was ill-prepared for! LOL!
What do you mean you wouldn't wear bunny ears? I recall a particular Halloween a decade or so ago...
LOL! XO
Heidi:
Hey, girlfriend! Miss ya! Yes, she seems to be doing better today. I, on the other hand, am really tired!!! LOL!
T:
Awww! I will! She's in better spirits today. Okay, she's as busy as ever! You wouldn't know that she wasn't feeling well yesterday! LOL!
I'll be home this evening if you want to call. I was going to go to "Boot Camp" tonight, but since LO wasn't feeling well, I thought I'd stay in with her. Boot Camp = kick yer butt/workout with some girlfriends of mine.
CK:
Does it sound weird that I think toddler vomit and toddler poop smell worse than the cattle in the barn?!?! LOL!
HAHA! I had to laugh at what you said about "the runs"! Too funny!
Steph:
Yes, "helping"! LOL!
You're making this parenting thing sound so fun!
Glad everyone is feeling better!
Cherry:
Tee hee! :) At least you get to ease yourself into it. Baby poo is soooooooo much better than toddler poo! LOL! Sorry if I'm grossing you out, but it's true! I found that breastfed babies' poo isn't bad at all. Once they're on solids...watch out! LOL!
Oh, you and Eric are going to have soooo much fun!!! I'm totally not being sarcastic, by the way! I LOVED seeing LO grow, develop, explore, and learn in her first year! It's so very special! I am very, VERY excited for you guys!! Can't wait to see your precious little one!!! XOXXOX
eeeks! poor little one.she's probably feeling all better now.
