good times
A pic of the boys before the little one ate the lump of coal! LOL!
Opening presents...
I somehow got stuck frying all the lumpia (filipino springrolls). I always get stuck doing the dirty work! LOL :)
The Christmas spread (minus the dessert: fruit salad and tiramisu)
Thanks for the recipe Jill! I tried your tiramisu recipe for last night's dessert and it was a hit...and so quick and easy to do!!!

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

OH my gosh! Those springrolls look so delicious! Those are the ones with the vegetables in it right? Your students look cute and PJ is as handsome as ever.
way kewl, sista friend! So jealous- tell your mom i miss her springrolls. did she also make lumpia shanghai? I miss my filipina mom! Teeeheee!
Merry Christmas, you fabulous Manitoulinian, you!
Thanks everyone :) Hope you all had a great Christmas too.
oooh! is that lumpia i see? sure looks good!!!!
Canine! Yes, it is indeed lunpia! What's the veggie one called? I know the smaller ones with meat in it are called lumpia Shanghai, but can't remember the name of the bigger ones with veggies in it.
i think it's just called lumpia (if it's fried). if it's the fresh kind, it's called Sariwang Lumpia. those are not fried - the wrapper is a thin crepe with fresh vegetables served with a peanut sauce. mmm.
i like the shanghai ones too! those are so good!
too bad they are time consuming to make. i'd be making them quite often. as is often the case, we just order batches already fried up.
OH I love your mummy's spring roll thingies! Can you send some my way? LOL She makes the best watercress-mango salad and Russian salad, and BBQ and...oh my maybe you'll see me on the island sooner than you think! Heh heh heh
