Island living
I often talk about how beautiful the Island is and how lucky we are to live here. Ms.Mamma and Minotte suggested that I take some photos of where I live and post them. Here goes!!! This is the first of many Island photos I'll be posting.
This is the Bridal Veil Falls in Kagawong. The first photo was taken in the fall two years ago and the second was taken last winter. I'll try to get out and drive around so I can take more photos soon. Doesn't the winter photo look just magical? It looks like a winter wonderland. This year, we don't have that much snow or ice....yet!

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

omg that is gorgeous!!!! I'd love to see more pics from your area...i'd like to visit Canada one day!
Hi Chrissy! It's bloody 7:24 in the morning here and I have to go to work. Just checking your blog on my way out. Please post more photos of your island. I'd love to see what it's like there. Who knows maybe one day you'll find Yuka and me on your doorstep! ;-)
Beautiful pics.
Ya, we went there right? Is that where the salmon go upstream at the end of their run? Miraculous!
soooo beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more, Chris!
j
You took us there when we came up to visit and I remember walking on that beautiful trail and seeing the salmon go upstream to spawn. It was so sad when they reached the falls and had nowhere else to go and by that time they were so tired and spent that they just end up dying there. You said it's part of their cycle of life, but it's still sad! Man, those salmon were HUGE!
awesome, chrissy!
Beautiful pics Chrissy.
I hope it isn't that cold yet up there..?
Hi Carol! We were spoiled for the beginning of winter with all the warm weather and no snow. All of a sudden, we got snow and it was -12 degrees this morning!
Ms.Mamma, there are tons of beautiful subjects for you to photograph up here on the Island! :) You and SF would love it here! LOL!
Stephen, did you know that the Island has some great bike tours (both motorcycle and bicycle)? Oh, and I'd love to see you and E again! Last time I saw you was......at your wedding??? No...when you visited Toronto I think?? Anyway, we're due for another visit! Wish I had the chance to visit you guys before you move back to Canada!!
Karina, you'd love visiting Canada! Though like the US, Canada's really a large country so it would be hard to soak up everything. One of my friends from Australia did a North American tour and visited a few places in the US and a few in Canada. Sadly, she's seen more of Canada than I have (and I live here!!)!
J, I'll try to post more pics as soon as I can. Oh, thanks for e-mailing that butternut squash recipe!! Sure is a winner!!
wow! wow! breathless falls!
