Yo' Momma!!!
Hubby, the kids and I watched Big Momma's House 2 tonight. None of them share my love for foreign or indie films, so we ended up watching Big Momma. Martin Lawrence plays an FBI agent who goes under the guise of Big Momma, a nanny/housekeeper for a suspect's family. It's a hillarious movie. The kids, Hubby and I were howling with laughter throughout the entire movie! Warning: Rated PG-13 (some mild sexual humor, drug humor, some words not suitable for young children). It is a very funny movie though!
Oh, no movie night is complete without homemade PIZZA :) I used my biscuit recipe to make my pizza dough. Prepare dough, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Once you've rolled out the dough, spread tomato sauce evenly (I'll post my homemade tomato sauce recipe one of these days). Add whatever toppings you wish. As you can see from the photo, the boys opted for a meat lovers pizza. I also have a recipe for vegetarian rice crust pizza for those who are allergic to gluten. Anyway, bake pizza in oven for 25-30 mins. Et voila!
In keeping with the pizza theme over at my good friends, Stephen and Elisabeth's page, here's a quick poem I came up with. Stephen's way better at writing than I am :) Here we go...just for laughs!
Pizza, pizza,

Just as long as there's no anchovies!!!
For the record, I actually don't really like pizza at all. I've only been making it a lot recently because the boys love it. *sigh* Can't wait to get myself to Montreal for some mmm mmmmm good food! Dunno if I'll have Thai, Indian, Japanese, Greek...or poutine!!! Decisions, decisions!!! LOL

what yummy looking pizzas Chris! We let our oldest child watch that movie with us and it was hillarious. A very good movie! Have you seen the first Big Momma's?
They put mashed potatoes and corn and squid on pizzas here in Japan. And it costs A LOT of money for a pizza and their L-size pizzas are more like a small size pizza in most countries! Insanity! Blimey! I'm even speaking like them now! Did you read that? I said L-size! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Your pizzas look deelish, Chris! Pete - don't they do corn on pizza in England too? I seem to recall sweetcorn and tuna as being options there. I had gorgeous pizza in Germany with potato slices and Emmenthaler cheese. I liked the pizza in France -they break an egg on it when it goes in the oven, and when it comes out, the egg is cooked - like a fried egg on your pizza! Sounds a bit odd, but it was super good.
Oh that sounds gooooood. How about some of that pizza when I come and visit this summer?
Why Miss Moneypenny, I do believe you're correct! It just seems to my North American counterparts that sweetcorn (or any corn) on pizza is a faux pas! Yes, we also have tuna as an option. I have also had potato slices over top. I do find mashed potatoes, corn and squid on a pizza a bizarre combination (if especially if you have them all together on one pizza).
Well, everyone, what's your pizza topping preference?
Pete: I love Greek/Mediterranean (sp?) pizza. The first time I ever had potato on a pizza was in Japan, and I thought it was weird. It's actually quite tasty (but I can't get over the excess carb thing with the potato AND bread in one dish).

Curiosity: For sure! When you come visit, we can have whatever your heart desires! You just get yourself over here and I'll take care of the rest. Wanna go to the beach?? How about the one J and I got married at? This time I'll be less distracted (last summer I was getting married) so I can take you sightseeing and to the beach :) There's sooooooooo much to do here in the summer!!!
HAHAHA!!! Chris, your so funny! I love the pizza poem, you crazy girl! Yeah, I remember how much you don't care for pizza. Whenever we wanted to order it, you always wanted something else! LOL! Now look at you! You're making homemade pizzas! Lifes funny that way, eh?
happilymarried, no I didn't see the first Big Momma's House. Was it as funny as part 2? We just thought it was hillarious. Hubby was almost in tears laughing! The students were also cracking up! I'm sure they didn't understand everything, but they got the general idea and some of the humour. I am a firm believer of learning language through movies! LOL! The kids worked on their listening comprehension and learned a few new words and expressions to add to their vocab lists! LOL!
Pizza... all four food groups in each bite!
I go for either your basic Hawaiian with ham and pineapple or if I'm throwing one together fast it just needs the basic red and green peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms, cheese, maybe a little bacon and lots of onions!
