Throwback Thursday #15
I'm a little late in posting this week's Throwback Thursday. Better late than never, right? Make sure to check out other Throwback Thursday posts, including the Throwback Thursday kickstarters' post at Pinks&Blues! Audrey, Jane and Sharon always have the most wonderful photos and heartwarming stories. What a lovely walk down memory lane!
This week, my Throwback Thursday isn't from my distant past. This photo was taken in 2001, but we all look soooooooooo young!!! My lovely friend, Gavie's Girl posted this pic of us on her Facebook and it brought back a flood of memories. This particular photo was taken when we went to the Gay Pride Parade in Toronto. I just love the festivities, the brilliant colours and decorations, the dancing, the music, the people and the energy! The Pride Parade was an anual event for us. There were two things that the girls did together every year: Go to the Pride Parade and go on an all girls camping trip.
The reason I love this photo is because it reminds me of our young, carefree days. I love my life now, but there's always something nostalgic in looking at old photos and remembering one's youth.
Out of the five girls in this photo, three of us are bloggers. Nathanial's Mom and Gavie's Girl are both in this pic. We're all married now and most of the girls are moms. Two of these lovely ladies have just given birth to their second child. How exciting to be moms of two! Congrats to the mommies in this photo.

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

2001 was SO LONG AGO!
isn't it funny how 6 years can pass and you can call that time, "our youth".
I was recently looking at some photos from my first trip with Eric's family, from the Spring of 2002. We looked so much younger! I look in the mirror and don't feel THAT old, but when I see those pics from 5 years ago, I realize... time has really flown by.
Oh, and I borrowed some photo albums from my parents to hopefully scan and share. So maybe we didn't look THAT much alike, but we definitely had the same hair cut! I'll try to scan some this weekend. Perhaps a good thread for NaBloPoMo.
Lookin' good, ladies! Youre; still as cute as ever Chris!
What a great photo! You can tell how close you all were. How funny that three of you are bloggers!
I feel like such a bad blogging friend lately. I'm so sorry that I haven't been around to comment much! I have been "lurking" even if I don't always say hi! Things are just busy, busy!

How cute! 2001 seems so long ago and it isn't really THAT long ago! Weird, hey?
Cute pic. I like the music and dancing at the parade too. It's so lively!
Great photo! I know what you mean though about their being something nostolgic about looking at pictures of friends we had when we were younger...
Cherry:
I totally know what you mean! Can't wait to see your old pics! I'm sure you were such a cutie! TTYL!
PS. Any ideas on how to stop my kitten from peeing on our bed? He's only 3 months old, so I don't think he's marking territory yet.
t: Thanks! You are the sweetest! Have a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! xo
Jane:
No worries! I know what you mean. I've been feeling like such a bad blog friend since I haven't had a chance to check out everyone's blogs or leave comments over the past few weeks. We've got a student with us for a few months and we've also had family and friends visit us on the island over the past few weeks. Maybe in the winter I'll be able to resume blogging on a semi-regular basis! *sigh* LOL...Life tends to get in the way of blogging! ;p
Hot Mommy:
Yes, I miss going to the parade! Did you go this year?
Andrea:
Thanks for popping by and leaving me a message :) I'm off to check out your blog now!
c, that's such a cute photo - you all look so young, carefree, and like you're having such a great girlie time!
Can't wait to see you hopefully real soon; to create some girlie-blogger memories too LOL!
that is one my fave pics of all of us!!
2 of the girls just had their 2nd babies in the lst couple of weeks and a 3rd was due 2 days ago and is just waiting...and waiting!!
weird huh???
amazing how young we all look even though it was only 6 years ago! I should really get out that Olay and use it regularly!!!
Fun picture. Good friends are great! Happy TT (though be it a day late..lol!!)
Lovely photo of some very lovely ladies.

Karen:
Looking forward to seeing you too! Can't wait! xo
Dina:
Did Shana have a baby??? Wow! It seems like everyone was due in Sept/Oct! I've got two friends who are due in Dec. Crazy!
Shana:
Thanks for popping by! I'm off to check out your blog now! :)
Pete:
Thanks! You are so sweet!
I love the new header C!
Hugs
Uncivil:
Thanks! :) Hope you and the girls are doing well! xo
