Looking for Ideas

I purchased a pre-lit Christmas tree the other week and friends keep asking me why I haven't decorated it. I just have plain white lights and a star on top. That's it. That's all.

I want to make a new Christmas tree ornament for every year Hubby and I are married. Right now, since we've only been married a year and a half, our tree looks very simple.

I was surfing the net for Christmas ornament ideas that Hubby and I can do together. I have no idea if Hubby will actually sit down with me and make ornaments, but it's worth a try! While perusing the Internet, I found this site. Not only does this site have creative tree ornaments, but it also has fun and easy cookie recipes you can try with your kids.

I found some cute ideas, but haven't found "the perfect" ornament idea yet. If any of you make your own ornaments, do you have any ideas you can pass along?
Cheers! xo

I actually do!

Equal parts of cinnamon and applesauce. It makes a perfect dough. Roll out and use your favorite cookie cutters. Poke a hole for hanging using a straw and let dry.

They are a very pretty rich brown color and I hang them with a thin red ribbon. They smell really nice and they are prettier than you'd think. Just simple and pretty.

Oooooooooh! That sounds great! I bet it smells really nice too! What proportions do you use? It's just cinnamon and applesauce? Wow! So simple and so clever! Do you let them air dry or do you have to bake them or something? You've piqued my curiosity!

I am not good at making my own ornaments, but would like to try it. I will check out the sites.

I love baking cookies. Don't know if I will have time this year, though.

Great cookies! My fav ornaments are ones other people make for me. I did find some cool candy ornaments over the weekend which I'll post soon.

How sweet that you have started that ornament tradition! I'm so not crafty, so I have no ideas for you... but I love that first ornament you made!

We bought a pre-lit tree two years ago and we LOVE it. No hassle of putting on the lights and remembering to water the tree! :)
