How COOL is this???

I recently wrote a post on the Green is Her New Blog site about "Green Gadgets for Summer Fun". Randy from Algonquin Outfitters left a comment and mentioned other "green gadgets" that are available at Algonquin Outfitters. One of the gadgets that caught my attention was the ball that makes ice cream! How cool is that?Although summer is coming to a close, who says you can't have ice cream year-round? I'm not sure if this is the same ice cream ball that Algonquin Outfitters has, but I found this one online. The Play and Freeze Ice Cream Maker is portable and compact, so you can make ice cream anywhere. This is great for picnics, family BBQ parties, and camping! There is no electricity required (except for a little human power). All that is required is rock salt and ice in one compartment and in the other compartment, cream, sugar and vanilla (or whatever ice cream mix you prefer). To make your ice cream, all you need to do is shake or roll the ball. Have a blast and toss or pass the ball around with the family. After a little fun, you can enjoy some homemade ice cream!

I don't know, C. I had the Dairy Queen ice cream maker as a kid and it was a LOT of work. These things look pretty cool though.

Those are cute!
If only they made it a dual chamber ball so your ferret could run around in the outer one for you ;)
Call me lazy but I like my Fancy 'lectric version :)

Ewwww...A lot of work, eh? I think I may purchase one of these fancy ice cream making balls (LOL! That sounded really funny when I read it out loud) and will write a review about the product. I really hope I like it! I really hope it works well! It is pretty cool looking!

Shannon:
LOL! Wouldn't it be cool to get your ferret to make ice cream for you!?!?!

That sounds like FUN!

I kinda think it would be fun if you could get a hamster involved somehow...oh, Shannon is thinking the same thing. I guess Great Minds think alike, right?

Bloody hell, mate! I couldn't be assed to do all that work for ice cream! It's far more convenient to just go to the vending machine outside my flat and buy some Häagen-Dazs ice cream!

I can get beer in the machine next to it and they also sell fags in the machine next to the beer one!

Speaking of ice cream you'll never guess what I found today as I restarted my spring cleaning (you know what a procrastinator I am).
I looked north and shouted Chrrissssyyyy!

It does look like fun, doesn't it? :) I'd love to get one and see if it really works! I'm sure my nieces would love it! We can take it to the beach, toss the ball around...and then eat ice cream!

J:
That is so true! Great minds do think alike!
Just thinking of getting rodents to run around in a ball and make ice cream for us reminded me of "Pinky and the Brain" for some reason!! The Brain was one creepy looking critter!

LOL! By getting fags in the vending machine, I'm assuming you mean cigarettes, yes?

P.S. I also miss getting everything I need just a hop, skip and a jump away from my apartment! Crazy what you can get in Japanese vending machines!

Jeanna:
NO WAY!!! Did you find your Dairy Queen ice cream maker????

I got that thing in the late sixties or early seventies, C. That would have been quite a find. But still a piece of crap.

It would be quite the find! I bet people would pay for something like that on eBay!
