Eeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

I was in the kitchen washing dishes and the kittens were playing, when one of them runs into the kitchen with something dangling from its mouth. Not thinking, I went over to see what she had. OMG! There was this little dark grey thing flailing its limbs all over the place! I soon realized what was going on, and when I approached George, she started to GROWL! I had no idea kittens could growl! LOL Her sister, Fred was curious too, and came up to see what was happening. As soon as Fred came by, George ran away with the mouse! A little field mouse had somehow gotten into our greenhouse, which the kitchen overlooks. The greenhouse is a large room with glass walls and a sloping glass ceiling. All of my orchids, Buddha Bamboo, and other plants thrive in there. I guess the warmth of the greenhouse had attracted that little field mouse as well. I had left the adjoining door open so I could maximize the heat from the greenhouse (solar heating and alternative energy are things Hubby and I are very interested in). Anyway, a mouse found its way into the greenhouse. Urgh.

"HOLY CRRRRRAP!!! We've got mice up here??!?! One of the kittens got one in the greenhouse!!!" I panicked on the phone to my mother-in-law.

"You live in the country, dear! There's mice everywhere!" She said, laughing.

Oh boy! I guess I'm still a city girl :) Can you imagine my horror when I tried to save the mouse and release it back into the woods?! CRRRRRRUNCH! Our tiny little George had devoured the entire mouse! Ewwww! Traumatic.

LOL! That's too funny, Chris! I can imagine how grossed out you were though by the kitten eating the mouse. If it's any consolation, we have mice in the city too. The kids found a family of mice in our garden shed! I guess it's getting cold outside and they're looking for a warm place to hang out.

OMG Chris! HAHA! I'm affraid of mice! I know we're a thousand times bigger than them but I would prolly climb on top of the table if I saw a mouse in my green house! If I had a green house! Oh, I checked out the Kraft website you posted. Lots of great easy recipes the kids can help with! Thanx!

They're just doing their job, sister. I am not a cat person, but had a gorgeous Persian named MAx(a gift from a college boyfriend) and in my drunken single girl early homeowner days, he killed three chipmunks that I let into the house and didn't even know. Thanks for reminding me about him and that story that I will blog about sometime.

LOL! You're right, MsMamma :) They're just doing their job. It still gives me the shivers knowing what they're doing though! Who would have thought these two cute, little furry babies would have that killer instinct in them? I'm interested in hearing that chipmunk story! LOL!

One more thing! Chris DO NOT try to save those little field mice! You crazy girl! They'll just come back because they'll know you've got a nice warm place to stay AND you'll protect them from those ferocious kitties! Crazy girl!

Almost midnight but can't sleep. My wonderful husband is snoring. Any suggestions on how to fall asleep when your husband is "sawing logs"? Zzzzzzzzz

I still remember waking up one winter night years ago to a tiny little “squeeeeee” right by my ear. I opened my eyes to find that our cat had decided that “mommy” & “daddy” needed a mousy little “present” dropped on their heads at 3 in the morning. He seemed quite perplexed when mommy leapt screaming from the bed and daddy was left trying to free the poor mouse from all the tangled sheets and quilts.

OMG Dylon! LOL! Actually, that is one of my biggest nightmares! I keep thinking that one day I'll wake up and the kittens will have left a little present for us on my pillow!
