#WordlessWednesday Slimy Sally w/ Linky

Look what we found on the farm!  I'm guessing (and hoping) the arrival of Slimy Sally the Salamander is a sign that Spring is actually here to stay?

I also learned that she (or he?) is not really slimy, but his/her skin secretes mucus to keep her/him moist when on land and maintain salt balance when in water. Hubs also told me that they secrete poison from their glands in their skin.

I need to keep on top of all these facts since we have a four year old who asks a lot of questions about everything!

Link up your Wordless Wednesday posts! We love checking them out and commenting!

Very cool! Also, a little creepy that my WW is of a salamander cousin we met at the fish store tonight. Coincidence?? ;)

Ohhhh! I wish you lived closer! Your boys would LOVE to explore our farm and our hardwood forests! Lots of neat stuff to discover! The salamander is kind of cool, but kind of gives me the creeps! I didn't realize some salamanders could live out of water like this! Had no idea we had salamanders here! LOL!

Gorgeous. What fun to get to meet Sally up close. (And good on you for trying to stay ahead of the 4 year old question curve!)
