Muahahahahahahaha!!!

Halloween has come and gone. All the excitement and hype building up for this one day in the year and it's over so soon.

This scary skeleton greeted the kids at the door.
The trick or treaters were so cute in their costumes. It's so nice to see all the neighbourhood kids! We live in a small community, so almost everyone knows each other. The thing I like about living in the country is that we actually know all the kids who come to our house to trick or treat. It's also really nice to see how much they've grown in a year! One of the kids was just a baby when I moved up to the Island, and now he's walking and talking already! His older brother was only 8 or 9 years old (and tiny) when I moved up here and now he's taller than me!!! I may seem like a goofy kid at heart, but I just love getting dressed up for Halloween. The kids are always surprised to see Hubby and me in costume. They get a kick out of how crazy the two of us are. Our nieces think we're just a bunch of big kids!
Goodbye October! Hello NaBloPoMo! Is anyone else in?

C, I am so impressed! You two crazy kids LOL! That make-up job totally rocks!
I would have so loved to see people like you at the door when I was a kid.
That being said, I get pretty excited too, but the most I did last night as far as dressing up was putting on the Witch hat, which I could only do when little G let me. What a bossy kid I have!

Looks like it was fun. Happy Nablopomo-ing!!

HAPPY DAY 1!!!!

Ahh man! Smarties? I haven't had Smarties since I was a kid! (well we have a candy called Smarties here too, but so not the same thing)

I missed out on the kids last night as I didn't get home from the office until 10pm. BLECH! But the hubsy said he had a good time and there were some really great costumes this year... and no NASTY older kids!

Good for you guys for whooppin' it up along with the kids! Why not have fun with it?

BTW - I just read your Ignorance post and my comment got so long that I'll save it for a post. ARGH!

We celebrated at a few shot bars here. The Japanese are fun to drink with. Many dressed up too. All the foreign teachers here get together and dress up and have fun, drinks and a few snogs on Hallowe'en. Where I come from it's common to have fancy dress parties. Do you have them in Canada?

Can't wait to read your "comment turned post" re: my Ignorance post! ;)

Ms.Mamma:
You crack me up! :) Love to photos! I truly have zero talent when it comes to pumpkin carving. You seriously put me to shame! ;) SF is adorable in the Halloween pics...but what else is new!? LOL!

mrinz:
LOL! Thanks! It was fun :) Hubby actually went to a meeting with that get up on!

Uncivil:
Hmmmm...wonder why the pics won't come up :( Hope you had a good Halloween. Do you get many trick or treaters where you are?

Pete:
Fancy dress parties, eh? My friend in the UK was telling me about them. They're like "dress up" parties or "theme" parties, right? One of my Brit friends was telling me about something called "Vicars and Tarts" (I think?). Too funny!

The weather wasn't the greatest but the kids all had fun. I stayed in and doled out the candy while my darling husband took the kids around our neighborhood, and my parents neighborhood and his parents neighborhood. This means the kids got allot of candy!

We gave out little bags of chocolate mini bars like you had and a mini baf of Lays each kid. Thid one little old lady on our street always gives out homemade cookies in the shape of spooky ghosts or jack o lanterns. Theu're just so cute but I keep telling the kids that they are not to eat anything that is not in a plastic wrapper and if it's opened we have to throw them in the garbage.

Blogger still won't let me see those pics?

For Halloween;

I left the house before dark with Ab & Em and we stayed at the beach until about 9:30pm. Walkin', and strollin' and cruisin' the strand.
Got home and took a shower and went to bed.

We did a repeat tonight. It's gorgeous weather for some reason?

Yeah, it's scary to let kids eat things that aren't in their wrappers. You can never be too safe out there. However, if you know that lady well enough, maybe it's safe to eat her cookies? If you don't really know her, then I'd say to trust your instinct.

My MIL gives out homemade caramel popcorn...which is deeeeeeeeeeelish! The kids here eat it because they know it's safe. Again, if you don't know the person then I'd say not to let the kids eat the treats. There are a lot of crazies out there.

Jimmy:
OMG! What on earth??? Now I can't see the pics on this post!! What gives??? Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!! The pics were up all day and no probs. I wonder if I should contact Blogger?

Yay!!!!I finally got to see the pics! Great Halloween makeup!

YAY!!! Glad you finally got to see the pics! I think I did an okay job on the cat make-up! That was my first go at doing cat make-up. I'm not the greatest make-up artist!

The bad part is that I had to go back and edit my post. I deleted the pics and then uploaded them again. It was a pain in the butt to have to do all that extra work, and I still don't know what the problem was. Hmph! I have a love/hate relationship with Blogger! ;)

re: vicars and tarts

i believe there's a "vicars and tarts" scene in one of the "Bridget Jones' Diary" movie. she goes to a dinner party thinking it's for "vicars and tarts" - she's dressed like a playboy bunny or something, but when she arrives, no one else is dressed up! it's was pretty funny and mortifying.

Canine:
LOL! Yes! I remember that scene in "Bridget Jones' Diary"! Hahaha! That was really funny! I would have felt like crawling underneath a rock if that ever happened to me. Can you imagine?? LOL! That was a fun movie. Have you read the book? I really enjoyed reading the book first. It's a really funny book.
