NaBloPoMo Day 20: Hookers

When I first moved to "the Island" six ago, I didn't realize how big a difference country life would be from city life. I was at a tea and bazaar when a lovely lady in her mid-80s started talking to me about her life. She told me that she was a hooker for over 60 years and that she started "hooking" when she was a young girl! She talked about how sad it is that not many girls are "hookers" anymore and that "hooking" is a dying art. I just about fell out of my chair and almost choked on my tea and sandwich! Nearly killed me!

I learned that day that "hookers" here weren't the same kind of hookers I thought they were.

First time I visited the island Jim's dad was all excited when I went to the barn, took me by the arm and said "Come and see the tits on this one!" I thought he must be some kind of perv, but it turned out a cow had calved and had an ideal udder. Thirty-two years later I can appreciate a nice bag with perfect tits on a fresh cow, and even speak the lingo.

Ha! That is too funny! :) Being on the island for 6 years, I can appreciate that! I find it amazing how you've got the lingo down to a tee! Hopefully one of these days I'll be fluent too! ;)

HAHAHA! Did you notice I said "she was a hooker" and not "she has been a hooker" for over 60 years? She no longer hooks. She said her hands are "bad for doing the job" now. :)
