That's weird...
Baby Bro's girlfriend and I were uploading pics from her camera onto the computer this evening and we chatted about how welcoming our family is. We talked about how crazy and full of life our familia can be! It's always good fun to get together for some laughs! We also remarked that all three of us (my two brothers and I) have partners with blue eyes and fair skin. It's weird how that happened. Certainly, it wasn't something that was planned. Anyway, I thought I'd post some cute pics of us.

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

people can't help who they fall in love with. your right, race, creed, religion, nationality don't matter if you fall in love with the person. it helps to have similar beliefs but if you fall in love with someone you make things work.
those are really great pix. you guys all loook so good together. i can see some very cute babies in the future!
... anent to what t said, so, when's your newly Melanie-Bailey-decorated nursery room going to be occupied, Chrissy? ;-)
You know, it's funny you mention that you and siblings marry people with same physical attributes. A friend of mine, she's blonde hair blue eyes -- her and both her sisters married Chinese men.
Funny thing.
Just goes to show that you never can tell who you are going to fall in love with.
You all look wonderfully happy together.
What great shots Chrissy - and that is a very interesting observation! Both my sister and I married fair-haired guys with light coloured eyes as well. But my baby bro broke with our tradition - he married a nice Canadian Chinese girl. To carry on the family name and all.
I think the mixes of different backgrounds produce the most amazing children (no, really, not just because I'm biased LOL!).
I am fair skinned and have blue eyes and lately I've been dating only Japanese girls. Wait. That's because I'm in Japan! It is true what you say- you cannot help but who you fall in love with. Or who you fall in "like" with. Or who you fall in "lust" with. You understand what I mean, yea?
What gorgeous couples! All of you!
Love all the pics Chrissy.Beautiful couples. Most interracial children turn out really beautiful too!
Cute, cute and cute!
Super Cuuuuute
Your family really seems like the fun, welcoming type - it's great!! Even the way you promote your sister-in-law's sister's art is totally cool. You're all so supportive of each other. I wish I had that with my in-laws, too. They're all just very different from me and my family.
All of you and your spouses/significant others make beautiful couples!
It's funny, though... my sister and I are very similar look-wise, but I married a guy with a thin build, dark hair, dark skin and dark eyes, while she married a big and tall guy with blonde hair, light skin and blue eyes!!
very nice pictures of you and your siblings!

I agree. I think that one can't help but who one falls in love with. You're right about things being easier when a couple shares similar beliefs and backgrounds. At the same time, variety, culture and new traditions can be brought into a relationship and that makes me feel that we offer each other something new and we learn from each other. I like that :)
Kim:
Tee hee! Hopefully soon! We're hoping! ;)
CK:
Yeah. I have no idea how we all ended up with significant others who are all blue-eyed and fair skinned. It's odd because my youngest brother dated Asian girls and my other brother dated women of all kinds of backgrounds and cultures. I don't know why I've never dated anyone Asian. I didn't grow up with many Asians (well, who weren't my brothers or cousins).
Beach Mama:
Thanks :) You are absolutely right about not knowing who you're going to fall in love with! I never imagined I'd marry a farmer! Somehow it all makes sense though! LOL!
Karen:
I agree! I think mixed babies are adorable!!! It's neat to see which features they get from the parents. A few of my friends are mixed (filipina-French Canadian, filipina-Greek, etc) and they are just gorgeous, GORGEOUS girls!!
I once had a friend when I was a teenager whose parents were German and hardcore anti-non 'White'. I never felt discriminated by them, but the things that family said were really horrible. My friend once asked me why the boyfriends that I had were all Caucasian. I had no idea why. That's just the way it happened. I suppose if one shares similar interests and activities as another person, they'll hit it off. These things aren't planned. Anyway, she went on to say, "I think White people should be with White people and Black people should be with Black people." I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Anyway, though she was nice to me and we hung out, we didn't hang out for long after that. I don't know if I could be friends with someone who felt that way about people.
More genetic variation produces healthier offspring. My kids are pale, waifish hemophiliacs.
Cute pics. :)
Pete:
LOL! Yes, those Japanese girls are cute, aren't they? Have you ever dated anyone not Japanese while you've been in Japan?
Hot Mommy:
Thank you! You're too sweet!
Uncivil:
Thanks! :) I agree with your comment about babies from mixed couples. Too cute! (well, most of them, anyway!)
Girlie Monkey:
LOL! Thank you! Your comment was cute!
Anon:
Thanks :)
Doggy Mama:
Thanks! Your family sounds really special too! You, Audrey and your mom are awesome! It sounds like you all have such a good time together too! I love coming from a large, closely knit family! I really, really, really LOVE my family :)
Canine:
Sooooooooo good to see you back! I know you've been super busy. I miss reading your comments! Only less than 6 weeks until the school year's done! What are your summer holiday plans?
Diesel:
LOL! You are such a hoot! Your kids are soooooooo adorable! You need to post more pics of them!! One of these days, you should do a Caption Contest from a scene from Little House on the Prairie or something and insert Mrs. Diesel, your two little ones and yourself into the photo! LOL! ;)
J:
Thanks. BTW, I love looking at your family photos too. You have such a special family. I enjoy reading your blog :)
Urgh. My face looks sooooooooo read in that pic! I should have posted a different photo! LOL! I read somewhere that there's a gene that Asians have that makes them have a low tolerance for alcohol. I suppose my face says it all in the pic! LOL!
