Sucker

I mentioned that yesterday, Mom and I went to get our hair cut and styled. I am thoroughly pleased with our new looks, but I have learned one new thing about myself. If you open up a dictionary and look for the word 'sucker', you will find a photograph of....

Yes, that's right. I am a big sucker. (Sorry...I'll have to post a pic of the new haircut at a later date. Hubby went to an auction and took the camera with him) After the hairdresser did a marvelous job (which I will probably never ever be able to reproduce myself), she and the owner of the salon suggested I purchase one of the products they carry. "To help maintain the look and keep my hair looking healthy and full of life!". Okay. I don't know why I end up saying yes purchasing crazy expensive haircare products. I said that my hair is fine and I'd like some advice on how to make it look like it has more volume. I'd prefer a natural, non-chemical and environmentally friendly way to do this. I figured perhaps someone would tell me to take some cloves of garlic, peel them and rub them on my scalp? Or maybe take a ripe avocado, mash it and apply it to my head?? I don't know! Anything...something natural and healthy and good for the body and the earth! Instead, I got offered this: I know the product works, since I've bought shampoo and conditioner by Nioxin before.
I think from now on, I'll stick to my regular hairstylist. She does a fabulous job too! The only reason we ventured so far from home yesterday was to give ourselves a treat. Needless to say, I'll be staying with my regular stylist from now on.

For more hairdressing woes, check out Dina's latest post :) Thanks, D! You inspired me to write this post!

I use NIOXIN products and they are fantastic. You look so young for a 32 year old, Christine!

How short did you cut your hair? I thought you said you wanted to grow it longer?

Goodness! Don't age me that quickly! I'm only 31! LOL! Urrrgh...32 in December :(

I took about 4 or 5 inches off. I wanted to grow my hair longer, but long hair really weighs everything down and gets all droopy looking. I love longer hair though. Anyway, this 'do is not too short and still easy to manage. I'll try to post pics up soon.

Chrissy, you're not a sucker at all. You're just a very nice, very sweet person who occassionaly may find it hard to say no.

Wait a second. Isn't that a sucker??

Just teasing. You're not! Does JJ used this product? :)

Rubbing garlic on your scalp and putting mashed avocado on your head! Oh goodness, Chrissy! You are too cute!

Dan:
LOL! OMG...I thought you were being sweet for a minute! ;)

Hmmm...I am not sure what hair products JJ uses, but I should check into it! Her hair is always so thick and full...*sigh*

AHMM:
LOL! Hey, it sounds like a good idea...doesn't it? 100% Natural...and edible! LOL!

Salon hair products are so expensive aren't they.

When I travel I use the hotel ones and they are so much like dishwash liquid!! As are some of the supermarket shampoos.

Sigh - back to the expensive shampoos and conditioners.

Blimey! Why bother with such products? Be like me and just use whatever you find at the 7eleven! I prefer to do my shopping for bath products after a good piss up at the local pub (shot bar here). You will not believe how fun it is to wake up in the morning not and seeing what you have bought while pissed!

Yes! You are so right! Sometimes I forget to bring my own shampoo and conditioner when I stay at hotels when we're away. Those hotel shampoos and conditioners are HORRIBLE!!! LOL! They really do seem like dishwashing liquid! LOL I never made that comparison before, but you're right!

Pete:
That sounds interesting! LOL! I wonder what kind of weird things one would buy when inebriated! ;) Must be interesting the next morning when you wake up and find yourself with all kinds of weird purchases!

Have a great long weekend, Chris! What are your plans for Victoria Day?

I know exactly what you mean. I once spent 87 cents on a bottle of White Rain conditioner.

Nada! LOL! I think I'm just going to be doing laundry and housework! LOL! I may take Chance to the beach though. We took him yesterday, but the water was still a bit cold! Too funny! You should have seen the look on his face when he went in! Can you spell s-h-r-i-n-k-a-g-e??? LOL!

Diesel:
What??? You mean White Rain is only 87 cents in the States??? Grrrrrr! The cheapest I've ever seen it here in Canada was 99 cents! Urgh.

Mrs.Mogul:
Thank you!! I used to hate being told that I look young! I sometimes get carded still! LOL! A friend did tell me that when I get to be in my 50's or 60's, I'll be thankful that I look 'young'. LOL!

Don't feel badly - consider it a treat for yourself. Part of the whole experience with your mom. Can't wait to see pix of the new look.

You look easily in your 20s - nothing wrong with getting carded! I remembered when we were in Chicago a few years ago and I was carded at a bar - I was almost orgasmic I was so happy. Then I read somewhere that they card almost everyone!
Oh well, age is just a number anyway. Most people think I'm still in my 30's. Kids keep me young, hair colouring makes feel me younger :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend Chrissy!

Oh, Chrissy, I feel for you!! I am a big sucker, too. Lately I've been trying to say the word, "No" more often, and I've got to say, it feels empowering!

But I've been suckered into things like this many a times!

You look beautiful in that picture, though (I know it's not your new haircut, but you still look great)!

Glad you and your mom got a nice day out, at least!!

Hugs!

OH! And guess what came in the mail today!? I just checked, and your package was there! THANK YOU so much for the goodies! The soap smells SCRUMPTIOUS!! And can't wait to dig into the Jones candy!

You're awesome! :)
