Long Overdue

Just a quick update before I begin:

*Little One is doing great :) She hasn't been very cranky...except for yesterday, when we were out all day. We got home after 9PM and she was miserable from being overstimulated and having her routine thrown off.
*She loves gnawing on frozen teething rings.
*I feel a lot more rested today since Hubby gave Little One a bottle at 3AM and changed her diaper so I could sleep. Thank you, Hubby!
*Our house is still not quite ready for us to move in yet. I really have to thank my mom and dad for letting us stay with them. Luckily for them their house is designed in a way that we're completely separated from them and they never hear Little One fuss at 3AM.
*Cool new "green" baby find! I posted it on Green Is Her New Blog. While you're there, check out CK's awesome post.

Now for my long overdue post:

In December, Rosie, my lovely friend (in real life and in the blog world) gave me the following award. Thank you, Rosie! Now, I realize it's almost March and I still haven't had the chance to pass on this award. I do have a good excuse reason for being unable to pass it on in December! I was in the hospital for two months after giving birth to Little One. Now that we're home, I have all the time in the world to blog! Yeah, right.

Anyway, the rules are that the recipient is to list six things that make him/her happy before subsequently passing forward the glee to others.”

Six things that make me happy are:
1. Holding my sweet baby girl and kissing her sweet cheeks!
2. Spending time with Hubby and Little One.
3. Going to the beach with Chance, my canine baby. He's a happy puppy, but since the birth of Little One, I haven't been spending nearly enough time with him as I would like to.
4. Sunny days and blue skies
5. Cooking for friends and family
6. CHOCOLATE! Though I'm not a fan of cakes, pies, tarts, tortes, and overly sweet sweets, a little bit of chocolate once in a while makes me happy! ;p

Now I must pass on this award to six wonderful bloggers. This part is always the most difficult, because there are so many amazing bloggers out there :)
1. Jeanna from Wisconsin Candy Dish. She always makes me laugh!
2. J at Thinking About. Literary guru, foodie extraordinaire, friend...Need I go on?
3.Ms.Mamma-
Photographer, painter and arteest! Who on this planet is more kreativ than Ms.Mamma?
4. Green On The Rock. This is a new (as in new to me) blogger. We seem to share a lot in common. She's a green mama and hails from the same neck of the woods as me.
5. Green Is Her New Blog. No, I'm not giving myself an award. I'm passing it onto CK and Fancy. The green blog was CK's brainchild. She and Fancy add the most creative and informative posts!
6. Sandy @ Momisodes. Her posts are always kreativ and entertaining.

You are the sweetest! Thank you. So sweet of you to post an update, even with being so busy these days.

That's wonderful your parent's house is accommodating you all well. Hope things on your house move along swiftly!

Thanks, Little Mama, you are too kind!
Dreaming that LO is a vamp is one of the coolest things I've ever heard, appropriate~ouch~and very funny.
Was up this morning doing a short post about chocolate.
I thought you loved those other things since you're such a great cook. No pie and cake for C.?
I've been too obsessed with finding a car to keep up with you as I should. Will catch up soon.

Thanks for the update!! I love hearing about how you're enjoying mommyhood - a role you were MADE for! And I love how Chance still gets mentioned... I'm sure he understands the demands of a new baby and loves his little sister!

xxoo,
Jane

De nada, amiga :)
Yes, we're very lucky to have my parents let us stay with them until the house is ready!

LOVE baking, but don't love sweets as much as I love making them. Is that weird? LOL! Although, I mentioned my fairweather chocaholic tendencies, I do love anything with lemon!

I was JUST thinking of you! I was going to send you a message via Twitter, actually!
Yes, poor Chance! He's a good doggy though. We did end up making Spike an outdoor cat since I guess she knew there were a lot of changes and crazy things going with the new baby and all...she started wreaking havoc in the household. She pooped in all my plants, killed off my bamboo and banana plants, peed all over our bed and all over Hubby's clothes. Yep, as much as we love her, I have no idea how she'll be with the Little One in the house. It makes me so sad because she has been my feline baby, but the human baby comes first :( Chance, on the other hand, is such a good boy. I'm sure he'll end up being Little One's protector and best friend :)

Thank you so much! I'm totally flattered, because I don't think of myself as being creative at all. :)

I'll have to stew on this, and another award someone gave me recently as well...

I'm so glad that little one is doing well, and that you're getting more sleep. I think she picks up vibes as well, so if you're extra tired and cranky, she's likely to be extra tired and cranky. You're SO in tune with each other at this stage, like you orbit around each other. It's a beautiful time, cherish it. And be glad it ends. Can you imagine hovering around your 45 year old daughter that way, and her hovering back? No normal life possible for either of you...ha!

Mmmm. Lemon. I saw that in one of your comments. I love lemon sorbet. Totally yummy.

No, not weird, I understand completely. You get to creative something that looks great and tastes delicious. Sometimes sharing is more fun than eating.

Thanks so much! I love the good, dark chocolate...mmmmmm! Glad your sweetie is making your life easier now (she's probably just saving it all up for the teen years - hahaha).

Oh, I think you are truly and surely kreativ :)
LO let us have 4 hrs uninterrupted sleep this morning. Isn't it amazing how babies can pick up on feelings and vibes? I mwan, she knows when I'm exhausted, cranky, edgy...and acts accordingly!

Word ver: mongre! LOL!
Yeah, I love baking and cooking for others. The few desserts that I won't say no to though are 1)Nanaimo Bars 2)Keylime pie and 3)Anything with lemon. I tend to gravitate toward tart/sour things (except for the Nanaimo Bar).

Apart from licorice and gummies, what DESSERTS are you more partial to?

After reading your comment, I had the sudden urge to go to the Chocolate Works! Must check what their winter hours are.

OMG, C., let me just say that the entire Italian half of the family has a problem with sweets. I mean a LOT of people jonesing for sugar like crack hoes.
Fav dessert, is whatever is done well. And I love new things.
I grew up on canolis, only had a really good canoli cake once, and until I was out of college, my ab fab dessert was a Flaming Cake Roll.
This because we lived across the street from a dairy which we robbed daily. On top of breaking into their freezer, I'd order up stuff at the dairy bar and not have the money to pay for it. That's how bad I had to have frozen dairy sugar.
They had something there called The Pig Trough which was an actual aluminum trough filled with every kind of ice cream and topping you can imagine. Also something almost equally obscene called The Volcano which kind of scared me.
My fav dairy bar food though was chocolate cake rolled up with vanilla ice cream covered in hot fudge and topped with a mountain of real whipped cream, a cherry, and a sugar cube dipped in alcohol, then lit on fire.
I don't know about a Nanaimo, maybe I read about it and just forgot. Sounds like little grandmother.

Holy Canoli!!!
YUM! I've had canolis before and they are yummy! Actually, The Phantom Gourmet had a whole segment devoted to canolis!

A Flaming Cake Roll! Do tell! I think I'm going to have to Google it. Sounds as intriguing as fried ice cream.

That's the last thing I described, C.
A cake roll, which is chocolate cake rolled up with vanilla ice cream, cut generously and put in a big ice cream dish, hot fudge, nuts or not, whipped cream, a cherry and a sugar cube soaked in alcohol then lit.
It would be easy to make your own cake roll, just be generous with the hot fudge.
