Desperately Seeking Help!!!
Remember that very special person to me who was in an abusive relationship? Well, last weekend she mustered the courage to call the cops on her abusive bf and had a restraining order put on him and he's got a court case in August. He plead not guilty, of course.
Anyway, after giving her all the resources and info I had on these types of relationships and how to cope with the aftermath, etc, I thought we were in the clear. Well...how wrong was I? I was alerted that she was in contact with him over the weekend.
I don't know what to do anymore. She KNOWS that he is bad news and she knows that beating her up is wrong...then why keep in contact with him???? Especially when she has a restraining order on him?
Anyone out there have any helpful advice on how to help a friend in this type of situation? I don't know why she can't just let go :(

About the Blog Author
City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Sorry Christine, not much more you can do really. This is the pattern and I have seen it many many times. She will not stay away from him until she is ready, or he badly injures or even kills her. That is just the truth. I only hope she gets to the point that she is ready to leave him for good before something terrible happens. As for you, there is lots of information on the interent about domestic violence, why women stay, and why they leave. All you can do is be there for her when she needs you.
