Here She Is!!!
Everyone has been asking for photos. Please disregard the date on the photos. The date is incorrect. The Little One was born on November 11th and these photos were taken not too long after she was born.
Because she was born at 28 weeks gestation and was not supposed to be out of the womb yet, her lungs are still not strong enough for her to breathe on her own. Though she is breathing room air now, she still requires the aid of her trusty friend, the CPAP. Don't be afraid of the tape and the mask. It's a lot scarier looking than it really is. All those sensors on her are just to monitor her heart rate, respirations, oxygen level, etc.
This was the first time I got to hold her. Isn't she sweet? Her soother is almost bigger than she is! Look at those tiny hands of hers!
Her bilirubin numbers were a bit high so the doctors put her under the lights to treat her jaundice. She has a penchant for blowing bubbles out of her mouth. Too funny!
The diaper they use on her is a newborn diaper. Check out how BIG it is on her!
She is tiny, but she is growing quickly! She gained some weight and is now 1020 g! She was 980 g when she was born. She is also a little piggy :) She is now taking 7 cc of milk every 2 hrs! Just the other day she was drinking 3 cc of milk every 2 hrs! I told Hubby that the only thing his daughter inherited from him is his appetite! That's a lie though because I think she got his hair colour. Her hair was black when she was born and now it's brown (and her eyebrows are blonde)!

City girl moves to the country, falls in love, and marries a farmer. She tries to incorporate her city ways with her new country lifestyle and blogs to keep in touch with friends, family & students who live far, far away :) Can this city girl go country? Watch as she learns all sorts of exciting things about life on the farm and in a small rural community. *UPDATE* We are now parents! Our baby girl was born on Nov. 11, 2008 (at 28 weeks gestation- 12 weeks premature, but she's quite the trooper)!!!

Mate, congratulations on the birth of your wee one! Blimey! She is mighty tiny, isn't she? I do hope you are taking care of you.
Love, cheers and beer!

Oh Christine, she is just so precious! Thanks for sharing these! I hope you are taking care of you too! I will email soon!
Hugs,
Ellie
I can see what you mean about her getting chubby! She is just beautiful and so tiny!
Thank you for sharing her with us.
She is adorable!!! This will warrant an Island visit for no other reason than to meet your little one and her mom and dad too!!!
Hugs
Barb
Yay for pictures! Thanks so much for posting them, I'm sure we've all been curious to see more. She is SO tiny - she must look so fragile. But, with the amount of weight she's putting on, she'll be a little tank before long! Congratulations, C & J - you must be SO proud!
EA
Oh, poor little thing with the wires and tubes. That must be hard on you, mom. Don't worry though, as soon as she's a bit older, they'll take those off and you can hold her as much as you want. :)
Kiss her for me when you get a chance, ok?
xoxo,
J
She is adorable!
Thankyou so much for sharing. And YAY for increased feeds! That means increased fattening up chances, no? And hopefully good weight gains!
So incredible!! Much love to the three of you. We cannot wait to meet her!
She's so tiny and beautiful! I love her little fingers. Congrats on your little bundle!
Very sweet. Thank you for sharing
Oh my goodness, I am tearing up. She is so beautiful C. Good job.
Pete:
Thank you. She IS tiny! :) She's growing though! It seems that she is growing right before my eyes. It's pretty amazing. Every day I go in to see her and she looks bigger and chunkier! :)
Ellie:
Thank you :) I'm trying to take care of myself too, but am still working on the eating enough and sleeping enough part. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.
Mrinz:
I've posted newer photos and she's even chubbier!!! Crazy what a few days can do!
Barb:
We've been planning to meet up for ages :) I do hope you'll get to see us next time you're on the island! We WILL get together for sure! XO
EA:
I've posted more pics for you on Facebook :) She is a little milk monster! I'm telling you, this kid can loves her food! This is a good thing though! We WANT her to fatten up! :)
Can 't wait for you to meet her! BTW, she enjoys choral music! Cute, eh?
J:
I know :( The first time I saw all the things attached to her, I cried. I just cried and cried. Then I realized a lot of the "attachments" were actually sensors (oxygen level, heart rate, etc) and she has a few lines (one of which is gone now and the other will be removed in a day or two), a CPAP and an NG tube.
She's pretty strong, our girlie! Hopefully she's strong enough and will grow enough so that she can come home next month or the month after! I know it's wishful thinking, but she is fully of surprises!
She's gorgeous, C. :) I love seeing her pictures.
Thinking of you.
